Now it seems as my scooter is slower going up hills and slower on take off. Does that mean the rollers that I put on are lighter or heavier... I guess I should've weighed them before I switched

You went with heavier rollers if it takes off slower, like it's starting in a taller gear? Like starting in 3rd gear, or something like that. Lighter rollers the motor will spin noticeably faster but the scoot will max out on speed quickly, but not have a high top speed. It's a balancing act.

It just feels like overall the power is not close to what it was before I changed rollers. Like my rpms don't go high at all. I changes the variator and the rear clutch assembly (think that's what it's called. Maybe I will try and put the old on back in and keep the variator

You should get a cheapy gram scale so you can stop guessing. www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=scaleOrder a set of 4.5's and a set of 5.5 gram and try them. You can mix them if you want to get a different response. You MUST alternate them in every other slot when you mix weights. You put three 4.5's in every other slot and three 5.5's in the other slots.
