I ride almost everyday. Cold is only a factor of the scooter. My 2T RHS just didn't like the cold (anything below 50.Fahrenheit, tell it got around 700 miles. broke in, at 800 miles on the OD, and I'll smoke the neighborhood at 10am when i go to work. (Note: to the guy driving the doge ram truck with the rear end noise on acceleration add on.) Thank you for taking one for the team.. and i hope you take all of them ........ I'll get rid of the bug's (smoke them out) ---- and you keep the cops busy. The neighborhood likes ..one of us-- and i think they prefer 'noise reduction' My 2.5 (trading with bill)

Coldest I've ridden in so far was 12*f. Part of my commute is 65mph for 3 minutes. With windchill that's around -17*f. Glad it's only been that cold once so far. Been mid 20s to mid 30s for most of my commutes lately. All I'm using besides my normal street clothes is a windblocking thermal base layers (top/bottoms/socks/gloves<--freeze out by bilt and a long balaclava by firstgear) and a pair of Colombia water/windproof over pants. Then of course my riding jacket(1st gen icon timaxx) and gloves(alpinestar c-1 windblockers). Wind blocking is key to cold weather riding. I'm still missing an outer wind blocking layer for my torso and really notice it on longer rides. I'll have my tire studs in 4 more days! Can't wait to get them installed so I can really get on it! Though the snow tires(mitas mc32 win scoot) are a massive improvement over the "all weather" tires(mitas mc20) I had on. Holy Crap! I shivered a little bit just looking at your photo. Man, be careful riding in those conditions....not concerned about you and your riding skills...it's the nuts in the cars you need to look out for. Very nice picture. Bill

I've been taking my backroad scooter routes to keep traffic to a minimum while I get used to it. After all this is the first winter I'm trying to actually ride through. So far it's going well and it's only gonna get better once I get my studs in and I get more experience under my belt. Though I'm a bit iffy of the main roads cuz of the other drivers like you mentioned. Though when I'm out everyone is looking at me,"what's that a-hole doing on a motorcycle in this?!?"

That makes my 60 mile each way on the motorcycle in 30*f last week to see my brother feel warm. Mind you it was mostly at 80mph so the wind chill was cold on the hands. Did not help that one of my heated grips stopped working after 30 miles. My right hand was toasty, the left Was numb.

40 and sunny seems to be my cut off for riding, after that it's just not comfortable, and at least in Iowa riding a scooter in the winter just isn't practical or safe for the most part I picked up a can of Sea Foam today, putting her awau for the rest of the winter, greatful for the days that were still good enough to ride after I got it back from the shop, gives me something to look forward to in a couple months. Now I wait with snowshoes leaning by the door, mother earth laughing her ass off at me...

Bill Yes, I love in the desert, which can get surprisingly cold. Terribly hot is the norm though. I've actually been in 30 below zero before, so I know Vegas isn't COLD, but now, when it get's below like 50, my foot hurts really bad. I can't imagine riding and adding to that with wind chill.

I was wearing 400 gram boots last few rides, feet were not a problem, my weakest spot is my left hand, just enough circulation in 3 fingers to keep them from falling off so the wind chill becomes an issue, have to wear a glove just for heat's sake on a 50 degree day.
