Pay a machinist to cut an o-ring groove in the head. o-ring the head, ditch the gasket altogether. I ran that last summer and it tightened up the squish a bit. Worked Great!

Sorry for the old thread bump.
Speedfight 1/2 cylinders will bolt onto an AF16/18. These came in both LC and AC it is direct bolt on. There are other peugeots that also use these same cylinders.
You will need to stack or make a custom base gasket and check your squish. IF you use OEM gaskets you will find the piston hits the head. I believe I used a 1mm gasket.
From all my research yes, you can bolt the water pump off a speedfight on to an AF16/AF18 flywheel side. it may require custom drive bushings to actually get the thing to drive. I went with an aftermarket Bosch electric automotive pump because it was stupid cheap and put it on a buck converter to drop the voltage to 9v to underdrive it as it was way overkill.
I have personally used speedfight cylinders on a AF18.
Here is my own question to this tho, Does anyone know if the crank from a Dio is the same dimension wise as a Gyro crank if you forget that the oil injector part is wrong?

I wouldn't go bigger than a 21.
19 would probably be ideal for overall driveablility and fuel consumption.
I love this build, keep it up.
I assume you use Dio cylinders, if you can find a 50mm cast cylinder kit you can hit 82cc without any case mods. More jam.
EDIT: What crank is that, is it a Dio crank or a gyro specific one?

This will be useful. I couldn't find a CHEAP lithium ion battery for the scooter, so I made one. I found an old battery pack from a cordless drill with one bad cell. Free.99 You can't use this directly without a protection board but you can order those directly from aliexpress for nothing s.click.aliexpress.com/e/eMMlWq1iYou can cut the bands that hold the cells apart with snips. Remove any rings and loose jewelry! Dont do this on a metal table! I cut three cells and left the connecting bands together and wired it up as per that drawing. I now have a small very powerful lithium ion battery. Probably not enough for a starter but I am kick only. While tuning my MotoEFI programmable ignition I acquired light small end rod knock. Too many revs. Going to get some Stage6 10mm small end bearings and see if they will hold up.

HELLO.
Scoot still works, runs good. But I've been so busy with other stuff I have kinda pushed it to the side.
I have acquired a AF34 engine. It is happening again. Another Twin. This one will be a separate build, perhaps even in a Dio.
I neeeeeeed 2 AF34 Cranks. Used is fine. Can be not in the best shape. Needed for mockup. Doing the crank differently on this one and need to see if it's even possible to do. I know there must be a few scrappers out there with some floating around. I want to use Athena or MHR in the end but cutting up 600 dollars worth of cranks and not knowing if they will work is scaaary.

Scooter Rally. I put approximately 100 KM on the thing and saw about 100KPH (there is more in there, its a new animal with the pipes).. The new pipes are sick.. It's kinda a dog down low, but up top it pulls like a freight train. I ended up welding on an air chamber to the rad, before it would boil over constantly, and if I left an air void it would draw air into the pump, I switched to a beta trials bike rad cap and added this air void for expansion and it worked a treat. Highest temps were in the 90's but mostly cruising and under load were high 80s. I still need to box in the rad a bit more and I think I would see temps drop even further. I did break down on the leg back from our destination, I think I burned up my CDI box/boxes. All I could smell was burnt electronics when I popped the seat. I had weird battery issues too. I need to underdrive my waterpump to keep the battery from draining. So I had a support truck ride. If anyone has any reccomendation for mega tiny lithium Ion batterys in the 12-13v range that have like 1-5AH rating im all ears, my space is limited. But no explosions of catastrophic failure, the motor is super strong. I think I need to up my launch RPM to get it more into the pipe. I also have not put the CMR kits on yet. Oddly enough the girlfriends ride, my Dio also just randomly turned off during the ride, I think it soft seized but I need to inspect further, this is after it clogged the pilot jet earlier in the day so i am wondering if the tank is full of shit and needs a good cleaning. We both rode home in the support truck, haha. I have some video, but its mostly me pulled over trying to fix the Dio and getting lost from the group, haha, A few good pulls but it's mostly lost in boring. Then as we got into the higher speed area my camera died. deng. It was a hit tho, there were a lot of very blown away people "you did what to the how?"

Sounds pretty good. Need to make spring brackets and some sort of hangers. Now i'm all horned up to do the real ones.

Somethin's brewin in the kitchen. Im still waiting for my laser cut pieces, so I grabbed the angle grinder and made a new header section, it's roughly calculated out so it might be ok? I wish I was a pretty welder.

I have done this dance before locally and came up empty handed.
The 2 ports can be ground out to 3 port in some cases correct? Wanna part ways with an allstate engine *eyebrows*
Really whatever the cheapest thing I can find.. I'm probably going to rebuild it anyway and this thing is making me broke and taking good money away from the Spree, hahaha.

LML? I can get a 3 port for around 1000 or are they just garbage too?
Anyone out there with a blown up Vespa engine?

Lets pull the head, Fuu, ok well the cylinder and the piston are new ish, other than my newly soft sieze marks lets pull the barrel and the studs. Oh 2 are jb welded in Fuuuuuuuuuuuu, ok well this is fixable, I can put inserts in..... lets separate the crank Ok this doesnt look bad someone has inserted some bearing sleeved I can work with.... FUUUUUUUUUU, ok this is looking bleak, lets see what else we got going on here. Ok the kicker hole is oval, I can sleeve that.. maybe I can use the rest of the case... The seal was NEW. it was leaking under where all the file marks are. !@#$%!@ This was the least scabby of all the work, but still scabby as frig. Well maybe I can save some of the rest of the internals. God damnit. Really. Both sides? FAWK. I give up. I have a good piston, cylinder and clutch.

Im sure you did it yourself but, any idea what it'll cost to do that? I can get wheels from the philippines but theyre $450 with hubs. If I was quoting out to do that at home it would be about 1-2 hours @ 60 an hour to do the rear wheel. Turn the wheel shells to the diameter then setup the wheel on the mill and drill in the new bolt pattern, but every shop is different. You could easily lay out the bolt pattern at home and drill it, it is turning the wheel for the rear hub that is difficult without a lathe or machine shop access. For the front you would want to just get a monkey disk hub, it bolts in.

Yes, it is not a direct bolt on.

This is a build thread for a not as cool and mostly infuritating 1965 Vespa Allstate. Sorta. One day 2 years ago I was on usedvictoria and I stumbled upon a 1974 Vespa VBC Super. It looked kinda haggard and was $1500 Canadian Pesos. My girlfriend is in love with these, and even after explaining how its old and not as reliable as a good old modern twist and go she didn't care.. So being me I bought it for her as a surprise. What a rabbit hole I stumbled upon. So as it turns out it was a Vietscoot. Filled with bondo and newspaper, Re welded fork, pretty much every thing that could be hacked together was. The engine ran though so I hunted for a better frame to try and save whatever I could off it and make all the money I lost back. That was dumb of me but more on that later. So after a hunt I found this in the back of a cycle salvage shop. Not much to look at, legguard cracked headset cracked, wrong forks, basically trash. but after $200 it was my trash. 1965 Allstate. So I started welding and welding and welding and painting and painting For what seemed like eternity. But in the end I had a nice platform to start from. after ordering a bunch of new bajaj and indian parts, and so many that were wrong it started going together. I decided to try and use the VBC engine out of this hunk of scrap metal (or should I say bondo) Ended up with this beaut. So I shouldnt have used that motor. We insured it this week and I took it for a drive. it "runs" but the crank seals leak, the shift cruicform is toast, the flywheel has no threads to remove it, the crank keyway is not a thing, the cylinder head threads have been "repaired" and the first time I tried to drive it the clutch arm broke. Good thing I am a machinist So i'm tearing the motor apart and will be fixing things and trying to save the cases. I figure you can all watch me struggle and curse and it will be at least entertaining for someone. Right now I need to find some parts new or used so hopefully see my girlfriends happy face vs my own angry one. Im probably going to do some sort of DIY reed valve and D slide carb, and HOPEFULLY there are no more surprises, but heck at this point if I had to just throw the whole engine in the trash, that would not surprise me in the least.
