Well the Vespa is dead, 60kph soft seize/wheel lockup. I pushed it back into the corner of the garage. Motor is coming apart. It has given me more free time for the Spree. I did a thing. My Visa loves me. I purchased two CM 70cc kits they are based on the Speedfight cylinders. I have been fabricating exhaust stuff up on the CNC. The header flanges are done other than the spring retainer holes and the Stinger tube clamps are also done. Just waiting for the laser cut pipe sections and I can hopefully have it done for the rally on may 20th. Thats all for now.

I do it because if I didn't do it, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. These are the things that keep me up. Haha.

Thanks guys Here is a photo of failure #1 While I have been waiting I made up these cylinder studs out of some bolts on ye old CNC. And my dog, Bruce. Just because he is rad. All the parts are here to fix this thing, but I got roped into my GF's Vespa. Trying to convert to DC12V without buying anything, Going to re wrap the stator and put a honda 12v rectifier/reg on it.

Failure report.
I have blown the welds on the intake... or the exhaust.
I ripped the exhaust hanger clean off the pipe. I knew it was coming. I have been putting off re welding it because well I'm 90% lazy, 80% of the time.
I also popped a head gasket/oring, so now she sits as I wait for the replacements from europe.
I pulled a bunch of timing out of it, sitting around 15 degrees from 17 and it's quite a bit quicker in the midrange. I tried to find any definitive info if my Daytona CDI boxes have a slight curve and what that would be but I can't find any info if they are just straight timing or have a curve programmed, So with some trial and error I have this. If I want even more pulled, which I am curious to try I will need to re make my timing plate that holds the pickups. Past me didn't plan well for future me.
I also have started making full exhausts, have got all the port timings, ran it thru a few calculators and will probably try to get the header sections done asap. I finished making the cylinder flanges yesterday and boy howdy they look sporty.

Its funny you say a triple.. I have been trying to score 2 sets of Honda AF34 Cases/engines off YAJ cheap enough to make it worth my while.
I made a cross bar finally which made a huge difference as the frame is so flexy and weak, and I ordered CR500 Rads. I've been eyeing up 70 CC peugeot cylinders but I can't pull the trigger.
my next venture is making pipes, I bought a small slip roll, have the software and a bunch of metal. I just need to get off my ass and do all the cylinder calculations, as I really haven't done anything at all with the engine other than set squish.

Just out for a burn, boring video, but sweet noises. The rattle at idle is a loose plate mount, not det.

I've only done 15-20 minute runs and had it up past 90KPH, driven it about 20 kilometers total. Water temp has been around 80c as high as I have seen it. We never get snow but for some reason this year has been insane, with it dumping 6 inches every other week after a warm snap, so riding conditions have been tough. it was 10c today, I re insured it as the plates have ran out. Also now it's DST so I have that extra hour of sunlight after work. I need to do some serious CVT tuning and it's too fat transitioning from pilot to main, so gonna move the needle around a bit. I also finally did an over range and longer belt so hopefully more wheelies and top speed to boot! Hopefully once I get my girlfriends Allstate complete I can focus directly on the Spree.
Yep it's a 85 CR60. Im doing it up like the works bikes of the era, have gold wheels, gonna make a pipe, probably put KX65 forks on it so I have a front disk..have a bunch of stuff planned. Theres a bunch of other sweet 2t stuff in the garage that needs attention too...

Quick tuning rip. I also bought another Spree today for the panels... It's going baby blue.

10500 . My ignition is odd because I basically have 2 triggers and cdi's side by side. I was getting interference on them when it hit 7k. I added shielded wire with a dummy wire, I seem to have surpassed that wall and on to the next one. Now if I can get some weather I can go for a few WOT runs.

It should be a hoot if I get it working right.
I'm currently struggling with a 7-8K missfire.
I start it up, runs great, smooth and crisp up to 7k. Throttle position seems to be irrelevant. 1/4 or allofit.
It hits a wall and RPM bounces around there for 2 seconds then the motor shuts off entirely.
I dropped to like a 65 Jet in there, same result
I put a 130 in there, same result.
Pull the main entirely, same
With that thinking I either think the carbs are simply too big (24) or it is not the carbs at all.
I think it's ignition breakup, possibly my dual pickup setup. Going to get some shielded wire tomorrow and try that. I also have some DC CDI's I may try as well.

Well after chasing some air leaks, finding a brand new seal that shredded itself and disassembling and reassembling the engine and coating all faces in Yamabond 4. I now with 100% certainty have an airtight bottom end. While I was in there I permanently deleted the oil injector and made the bottom end volumes much closer to equal. I machined an aluminum sleeve, pressed it into the seal bore then filled the void with Devcon. I have also been struggling with the carbs; I bought junk, I expected junk. I have ClOKOnes on there, I re machined the bottom of the jet well and the jet well itself, bringing it up to a proper location, re drilled all the passages to the same size and have it absolutely barking off the pilots now. I found a set of 40s pilots at a local bike salvage and it seems ultra happy today is the day of re drilling some mains, get it running happy then order new stuff. I also made a stem and bar mount for my gauges and got some way light carbon bars. I am swapping over to a big single round because it looks a lot better, but the housing hasn't arrived yet. I wish I could go for a rip on it right now....

Mine was pretty thin, but I figured with the press fit of the bearing inner race, plus the meat of the journal, plus the solid shaft plus the press fit it would be more than robust. But i've done less than 1 kilometer on the thing so who knows. You should look up what RD400-350 and Yamaha banshee guys do, they press, then weld using a tig and no filler just enough to add extra bite to the press fit. I think that would be the be all end all and is similar to what I did. Failure is the first step to success and all that malarkey.
