I turned my idle mix and speed screws into thumbscrews. I can now adjust both with the seat installed. For the idle speed screw, i measured the screw and found that it was an m4x.5 thread, a little bit finer than the more common m4x.7 screw, so i couldnt just buy a thumbscrew and be done. I had to either enlarge the hole in the carb to accept a more standard screw or do something else. I managed to get my hands on the appropriate size tap, so i took a little bit of 3/32 thick aluminum i had on hand and tap it and cut it down to make a little thumbscrew. Im going to loctite it to the screw once i get some red loctite. Ive also got to clean the edges up because its really hard on the fingers when youre reaching under the bucket. Here is a picture of me reaching under and adjusting idle speed with my fingers (seat bucket removed so you can see. For the idle mix screw, that took a little more effort. My original plan was to drill into the screw and tap it for a common size and loctite a thumbscrew into it, That seemed too hard. My next thought was to put a piece of thinwall tubing on it and bond it with some epoxy, i was concerned that might not hold real well. Earlier in this thread Frankenmech suggested silver solder, thats what i did (thanks FrankenMech!). I measured the size of the hole in the carb (.290"), then the diameter of the mix screw (.175"). Then i found some tubing on McMasterCarr that had a .25" od and a .180" id. Perfect match. So i silver soldered the tube to the screw and crushed the other end to make it a little easier to grasp. Adjusting idle mix with the seat installed is now easy. Tube and mix screw. The tube and the mix screw. A .005" difference was just perfect. After soldering. New mix screw installed. I can now adjust the mix with the seat bucket installed by reaching my hand under the fairing. Its not even awkward to get to. *disclaimer* i still havent started it yet, so i cant say that this wont make my scoot explode chernobyl style. But i feel fairly confident.

Quite a few years ago (before i had a scooter) they apparently had a good rep, atleast from what ive seen on older posts on forums. Since ive bought my scooter Ive seen quite a few bad experiences around with them.
Ive never bought from them, i almost did a week or two ago, but i didnt. Normally a bad review or two wouldnt sway me. But the reviews seem to be too frequent, plus having two websites seems kinda shady to me.

I lubed the throttle and brake cables. I used the cable luber tool with the 2 knobs.
The throttle was a Real pain, oil went everywhere, i tried several different ways.
Gave up and did the brake cable. Wasnt perfect but it did the job just fine.
Went back to the throttle cable and tried again, and i finally got oil out the other end. Still made a mess around the tool but i got it done.
Ill eventually buy the motion pro v3 luber that screws together. Maybe that will work better.

I have hearing aids and im 38....my ears whistle with a proper fit helmet and would have to lower the aids with a full face and not hear well. Used a half helmet so i can hear well. I know im in a low % but i feel limited on what i can wear and still hear well My wife is hearing impaired. She wears only on aid though. This is the helmet she wears, without ringing. She doesnt hear real well with the helmet. But shes not missing much, she doesnt hear real well without it either. I got some maintenance work im gonna do in the next few weeks. Gonna lube some cables and flush the front forks. Mostly all because ill have the front apart to replace the front brake hose, the outer sleeve got cut by the tire when it broke loose. Its probably fine, but ive only got one brake hose.
And perhaps more importantly, im pretty sure im gonna hit up deals gap, aka Tail of the Dragon. Just gotta figure out a way to get my scoot in the back of my car. Im sure it can be done, ill just get creative. Then its just a 5 hour trip.

Thanks for the link. Ive considered that too. But im not sure if there is enough bracket there to re-thread. Thats one of those things ill have to see. When i really get personal in investigating.
I will work somthing out. I just want it to be the simplest solution possible.

I think thats my plan. Mcmaster carr has some that seem like a perfectfit. Ill be ordering from them eventually. For a bunch of different projects.
The idle stop is an odd size. Definatly not a normal m4. Might not be m4. I need to spend time with one and really measure it. I was hoping to replace it with a normal thumbscrew...

Make your own thumb turn needles. Just silver solder a flat piece of brass or steel into the screw slot on a stock needle. Genius! I was actually looking at bonding a thinwall tube around it. Maybe solder a thinwall tube?

Scooter tuning i believe has thumb screws for some carbs, check them out and go from there? They have some, but theyre cryptic. "Fits some flat side keihin". Dont know what that means. And they give no thread pitch and length of needle.

Swapped to a 31 pilot jet. Mix screw is at 1.75 turns. Next up is to figure out how to put a thumbscrew to the idle mix and speed screws so i can adjust on the fly if neccessary. That way i dont have to unload my seat bucket to make adjustments, i got to work today and realized i forgot to put my cable lock back in...

Installed my new carb. It idles better than before so i'm pretty happy.
The 30 pilot seemed too small because i had to back the mix screw out too much. I had bought a 31 and a 32. Deep down i knew i needed the 31, but i wanted to try thr 32. Screw is all the way in on the 32. Ill change to the 31 tonight after work.
