Ahhhh! The bright blue spark box!I recently bought one in hopes of a 'real' spark curve.I did a test with my stock unit;(short vid) Then installed the magic blue spark box and did the test over again,,no change at all,no spark curve, just a steady 13*BTDC like the stock one,but it IS a nice bright blue.. OK here is the wiring, blue box is zuma; Zuma -------- CPI orange -------- black/white -- coil white/red-------- blue/white -- pickup black/red ------- black/red -- source coil black/white ------ dark green -- switch black ------ black -- ground

ok thanks John. If theres no gain then i'll just keep running the stocker, less wires to have to splice into. i've basicly already got all the wires put together, i've just gotta get them put into the seat bucket. then when i'm able to get out and about i'll go get my gas tank and get it plumbed and see if i can't get this thing to fire up. i did get the new throttle cable in the mail today and the front fairing painted, just gotta get out there and put them in & on after the paint cures overnight.

Somehow I missed that post. Who asked you to rename it? I assume we're still talking about the name "Hustler" or "The Hustler"? If so, there was a car, a Suzuki motorcycle, and a plane named Hustler as well as a boat brand called Hustler. If those major companies with lots of lawyers to tell them what might offend people thought it was an OK name, I think you'll be just fine calling a scooter build that. lol Just try not to cheat anyone out of money or claim that the build is in memory of Larry Flynt.

the misses had asked me to rename it but after more thought i've decided that the names gonna stay. i did get the wiring done yesterday and got it to turn over. i haven't been able to get out of the driveway for 2 days now so i'm gonna try to get out and about today and see if i can find a fuel tank for it and hopefully get it running. i've still gotta get the carb ordered but i've got the stocker that can at least get it running.

i got my 21mm black race dello in yesterday. i installed it as well as a 16ounce gas tank, should be plenty for the track as long as i take a gallon can with me. i found a stainless steel water bottle with a screw on lid at walmart for $1 that i drilled a hole in the bottom and put a 1/4" hose barb with a seal in to make it water tight and then drilled a very small hole in the lid to let it breath. i've still gotta get the plumbing done then fire it up. i also got my 1E40FM (1E40QMB-A) motor from Reign and i've been looking at a 54mm bbk from Autotech355 that should make it almost a 100cc's. that should get me down the track pretty good, i think. i'm gonna try to get that done tomorrow. i'll let you know how it works out.

And don't forget to ask him about extra gaskets if you email him. I don't think you'll find them for less than he sells them for.

the 1/4" line i ran was leaking at the carb inlet so i changed it out to a 3/16" line and no more leaks. i ran it up the road and back today and it was spitting and sputtering going up and ran excellent coming back. the spitting and sputtering reminded me of a car with the fuel pump going out or running out of gas. i put it back on the table to check to see if the choke was sticking and it wasn't. at 1/4 throttle it sputters like its running out of gas, but if i let out of it it'll stay running at an idle. if i try to get back into the throttle it just tries to die again, I'm thinking the floats not set right and of course S6 doesn't include paperwork with anything they sell, so i think I'm gonna take the bowl off tomorrow and see if the floats adjustable. i'm running an open air filter because the stock airbox won't fit on the air inlet of the carb. so i tried the factory installed 92 jet, then a 95,98, and 102 with no change at all with trying to die. other than the float I'm not sure what else it could be. it won't run long enough at anything more than 1/4 throttle to try to do a plug chop. hopefully it won't rain to much tomorrow so i can try to ride it for testing.

Sounds like you might be on the right path with the choke.?. Adjust it so the plunger is all the way down when the choke is off. Dont bother trying to adjust it until you know it is seating all the way while off. Better yet, fire it up, warm it up, then shut it off and adjust. I will try to make it by today. Got caught up with things around here last night.

well i got the choke adjusted today and that made it run a little better but the spitting and sputtering still there, mostly at high rpm's. when i shut it off it had a little bit of fuel coming out of the carb so I'm betting the floats not right like i already figured. I'll take the float bowl off tomorrow and see if i can adjust it at all. if the floats not quite right that would help explain the spitting and sputtering. if that fixes that problem I've gotta get the carb jetted and tuned for an open filter.
