Looks like a great start for a drag scoot. Considering it's use, I wouldn't worry too much about the fairings unless you just like the looks. The only one that might make much difference is the front fairing.

well no luck on the other 2 pieces of xpeed plastics so i altered the etons bug style headlights to fit the front of the vento. doesn't look that bad. was gonna alter them to use as tail/brake light lens and put red leds in them and decided not to, who needs brake lights on a drag scooter? but a blue on one side and red on the other might look ok, just for looks not practicality.

You don't need headlights for the events up there as I recall either, but I'm a little late telling you that. lol Since it's just for looks, you might be able to pick up red and blue strobes pretty cheap. Just don't use that anywhere but the track. ;D

yeah i know i dont need them but i'm wanting them just for appearances. and i really like the way they look. what i figured was get the red and blue leds and wire them each to its own flasher, and wala it'll look a little like a small cop car. lol

Well I made a decision on the direction I'm going with the vento, its gonna be a naked drag scooter. I'm not even gonna run a charging system, head or tail/brake light, or electric start. I want to run a bare necesity wireharness, even if I've gotta make it myself. I spent today stripping the frame of all nonnesety brackets and tracing some of the wiring down. Took the wireharness off and looking at it, it looks like its a 9pin cdi. Has anyone ever seen this before, or know where I might be able to find one? I'm baffled by it, but its the only plug that would go to the cdi. Every other plugs accounted for. I've done a search at all the parts. Suppliers I've got access to and can't find one. Id prefer a race/performance cdi if I can find one. Thanks for the help and info if you've got any.

well since i'm going with my own harness because of not running any real electrical components besides the stator for timing and cdi for processing and spark control, i'm not too concerned about the factory cdi. just wondering if anyones seen that before, i shouldve clarified that in earlier post. sorry.

I've heard Etons use a different CDI with more wires. All of the ones I have seen are "standard" minarelli CDIs.

yeah the etons got a 5wire cdi, but the vento had a 9pin plug for the cdi which i've never seen or heard of till now. i'm assuming thats the cdi plug cause everything else is accounted for, it didnt have a cdi with it when i picked it up.

ok, i've got a question for anyone that can answer it for me. what is this little box for thats on my eton beamer 3? i know the bigger one is the cdi, but the smaller ones got me stumped. its mounted up on the neck by the ignition. its got 5 wires coming out of it. it seems to run ok even without it plugged in. thanks in advance for the help.

Its weird, i was over at his house and he showed me that. I got to thinking and i bet it is a CDI and because it fit that plug someone before you put it there. Thinking thats were it needed to be. Stumped the sh!t outta me for a minute for sure! Bottom line is, we got it fired up, ya know what you want to do, and we got all winter!!!

well i got my drag frame stripped down to bare tubes. i cut off the nonessential brackets, ground down the welds, done some measuring for the neck supports i'm gonna build and install, broke down the wheels and tires for sanding and paint, and still stripped the beamer frame down. i never realized how much road dirt collects under the plastics and other parts of a scooter. now i gotta get it cleaned up, paint or powdercoat the frame (not sure which one yet), order parts, and start building this thing. gonna be a good winter as long as the checkbook holds up. lol
