How does it look as a naked bike?
I'm starting to really want to pull all the fairings off of mine. But the tank is not made to be seen under the fairing. (lots of mounting brackets etc.)

It looks bad without the panels. They fit too much "stuff" under them, so when you pull them off it's a bunch of wiring and stuff shown. I'll grab a picture for you when I head out later.

Just a little eye candy for the GPS I bought yesterday. It has a feature that you can set a image to load while the GPS is starting up. I also ordered a "Ram Mount" system for the GPS. Cost almost as much as the whole GPS

Definitely. I can update it from my Kindle every night when I stop. I've got a small notepad to keep track of mileage and gas prices too, so I'll be sure to update with that info.

Hey if you are looking for bike luggage i love my Dowco 3 piece value pack that i got. Lots of luggage for $120. The trick is to roll your cloths up in a plastic bag squeezing all the air out as you roll. You can get a lot in a small space that way. I got red cloth paint from Hobby Lobby and painted my bags to keep the "Triton Tribute" alive. lol Can wait to see your adventure progress!

Nice. I might have to try that bag idea for my clothes. I've already got a big tank bag, giant saddlebags, and a 8 gallon Rubbermaid "Action Packer" for on the back seat. Overall I have about 5 cubic feet of luggage area INSIDE of storage. I also have a giant bungee net for holding my tent and fold up chair, etc.

Oh, and I managed to get some work done outside today! It finally cooled off enough after the rain that I wasn't sweating after 2 minutes of standing outside. List of things accomplished today: 1) New petcock installed on the gas tank. 2) New fuel line run. (I wanted to throw an in-line filter on, but the angle is too sharp from the tank to the carb to fit it) 3) Front and rear sprockets changed to my new ones. 4) Old chain cut off with the Dremel. 5) Oil changed. I changed it last year just before putting it away for the winter, but with the bad petcock leaking all winter long, the gas ended up in the oil. 6) Gas cap fixed on the tank. Surprisingly all of that only took me about 3 hours! Oh, and my new helmet came today. Modular carbon fiber Tell me what you think:

Wow sounds like you are set for travel. Camping on a MC trip is always impressive to me. Seems like putting a challenge on top of a challenge. I'm more a - ride all day then chill by the hotel pool - kind of traveler. lol
That helmet rocks! Cooler than any of mine and i have 8!
So when is your trip? From where to where? What is your route?

I'm shooting for around this time next month. Mid-to-late August. Don't know exactly what route I'm gonna take yet. I suppose I'll let the GPS figure that out for me. And if the GPS is way off, I'll have a road atlas along too. My main attraction will be Florida. Whatever I see along the way will just add to the fun I don't want to do TOO much riding everyday, but I don't want to lounge around for hours while there's still sunlight either. I'll have to find a good mix of the two.
