So I had time to try out the OEM belt and *sigh it performs just the same as the Athena belt. Maybe the OEM belt will last longer than the Athena we will see in the future. So I guess a 13:1 final drive ratio is a little short and I will need to get some A/M gears. So time to start shopping around and that should do it to help me get to the mid 50's on this thing.

I'm doing 50 on a stock horizontal piped mina. Haven't even looked at the cvt just stock. I did put a 17mm carb because stock was trashed. It's not a wheelie machine but pulls linear all the way up to speed. I would think if you can get the clutch to engage at high enough rpm you can get anything to wheelie! Good luck! I did stand my 90 on the exhaust a few months ago, while in traffic! Spooky

While on the subject of cvt the only thing I noticed between the mhr and hoca is the hoca actually had a higher top speed while the mhr is very responsive at any speed. Wheelie on command up to about 30.I'm.running 8.5-1 gears though

spaz12 which gears did you get the athenas? Even though you only have a few miles on them, how do you like them? What kinda speeds do you see?

Birdman, I just meant that I only have about 15 miles on the scoot since I bought it. And other than putting it back together, I haven't done anything to it. Yet. So no gears. Sorry buddy.

Well i havent got the gears yet. still deciding and waiting on a tax return before i place my order because i want a couple other things too. But, i did go for a short ride today and man this thing is lacking going uphills or maybe im just used to the powerful Elite. I need to mess with the cvt, or maybe a more powerful cylinder is in order lol. Also i need to bring the idle up some more.

Well some things showed up for my Zog project. Heres the Doppler 14/42 primary gears, a Str8 shock spacer so I can try a different shock and chuck the weak RFY shock, and some grips for good measure Also a new Bopper tire for the rear to hold the ground better. I already had this laying around but I want to try this shock in conjunction with the Str8 spacer to get rid of the RFY and slightly lower the rear end. Also, running this setup may make space for my Doppler S2R intake.

Well got a little update.. I tried that 9.5 inch shock and it didnt really work out like I hoped so I amjust going to bite the bullet and get a nice quality Malossi RS1 310mm shock and be happy once and for all. Also I got the gears on and the 14/42 primaries put me at about 10.5:1 which considering the large size of this tire, this should be tall enough gearing for me for the long haul. However with these gears I lost my ability to do wheelies so thats pretty disappointing to me. It still falls on its face a 35mph too, so I need to figure something out with the tune of this thing.. *sigh* Then last night I just sat in the garage having a beer staring at that scooter and came to think maybe I need to try a different cylinder/ pipe/ carb setup. I really want to try a dellorto carb either 19 or 21 since I cant find odd size jets for my stock Jog 19mm carb. Second I was thinking of trying a different more powerful cylinder, Im deciding between an MXS sport and a Polini Corsa (im open to other ideas but those are the two Im most leaning on). Then after i settle on a cylinder I will see how it likes the Doppler s3r pipe (probably not very well.), if it doesnt then Im going for a yasuni R or C16.. Also I have a Polini For Race 3 shoe clutch laying around that may be good. Ill try that, plus I want to chuck this cheap Koso variator for a quality on but IDK yet, I didnt research that yet.. _till next time scooter people...

What cylinder do you use right now? Do you have any pics regarding the gears? Especially the inner stuff. I need to swap soon my gears and I want to get different ratios so if yours look same as mine then I'll have a good choice of gears since they sell a lot for older Jogs.

Right now Im running a Malossi 70cc sport. I may keep it IDK yet. I have thinking, research and tuning to do before I make a real choice.. As far as the gears Unfortunately I dont have any pics but usually you will need to use a hydraulic press to press the gears apart then together again. Sometimes you may need snap ring pliers too.
