I had the engine mount bolt come lose on one of m scoots and man, I thought it was all sorts of messed up. It happened when my kid was riding it so I assumed that he'd hit something with it. It was really bad. I could feel all sorts of vibrations. When I drove it further is when I noticed that the rear end was acting strange and then I finally figured out that it was that damn bolt. Tightened it up and was good as new.

Well get to it! I can't wait for the "Thrills of the Spills! Wheelies Gone Wild" edition to the very successful "Jog off that Luggage Rack" in twenty seconds a day. You could be almost as big as 90GTVert scooter videos on utube. I'd definitely subscribe to it just as I did Brent's. :-) Don't forget your helmet bro!

I finally got time to work on the Jog a little bit today. I got the mount back from the shop and it looked great. So I put the engine back on, and everything feels more stable and the weird vibration is gone. I like the way it sits now..
It still is topping out at 40mph maybe 45 tops.. Im happy if i get to at least 50mph like I did with the old Jog motor. I need to retune the CVT. I just swapped over the same CVT setup that the old Jog motor was happy with. I never checked but I'm assuming the gear ratio is different on the pre-bug engine.

So here I am again. Today i had time again to work on my Zog project. And I made some good progress today. I figured that the 90 MJ was too lean I tried a bunch and it seems happy with the 95. I also played with weights today too, and its waaaayyyy happier with 6g weights instead of 5g weights like I had before. With the 95MJ and 6g weights i can top out at about 50mph again. I have not GPS verified that yet and am only basing that off of feel, but it is way better on top speed and acceleration now.
The only problem now is that the clutch springs feel worn and it wont pick that front end up!! So some fresh 2k clutch springs showed up yesterday but I didnt have the tools to take apart the rear torque driver they are at work in my toolbox. So hopefully next week I'll have time to change those clutch springs and move forward with this project!

Update!! The struggle continues with the Zog. I tried to go for a ride with the current setup (after changing the clutch springs of course) and I guess 95 was still too lean. It felt under powered and it would struggle on WOT spurts... So back to the garage I went and put a 100 MJ in the carb and it got better. I went back to the 5 gram weights (6-4-6-4-6-4) and its running "OK"... It still tops out at 50 or so but it seems like it takes forever to get there and it only goes 35 or so uphill. Maybe I need to find the exact Jet between 95 and 100 like a 97 or 98 or so. Maybe Im just spoiled by my Elite... but darn this thing feels slow. I was just wondering if this is how prebugs run? What do you prebug guys top out at with stock gearing? spaz12 PIG ? Also having this longer engine on the Jog frame is making it harder to do wheelies seeing that the longer engine extended the wheelbase and the larger rear tire leans the center of gravity forward. *sigh* Maybe its time for A/M gears and a clutch that hits harder than the stock Jog one. Any thoughts from the scooter veterans and pros?

Not to jump your thread Birdman. Have you tried a frame support bar. Put one on the 90. And the damn thing does wheelies now on command. Haven't really tried at like 20-30mph yet. But that curve in the Yamaha frame tube has so much play in it. My longcase and 12" fatty wasn't letting me wheelie either . Handles corners like a champ now too. Anyway....

niz76 Thats interesting. It makes my feel not soo bad. Maybe some A/M gears are in order 13:1 is tall... When I say 50 Im just going off of feel and being an optimist. So may be at 45 or so.. I got more weights coming in and Perhaps I can pull that Polini 107mm 3 shoe out and see how the prebug engine likes it. Also I will order and play with some more Jets.

Yessir I was dissapointed at the GPS reading myself. Feels like you're going so much faster on those lil' scoots!

Mine is the stock cylinder with the Leo Vince pipe and I had it going 43 mph (according to phone gps). I think it might go a mile or two more per hour faster if I sorta tucked in? That might be a little hard though since I'm so tall and there is nothing to get behind. Oh, and it took a good, long couple of blocks to get to that speed. Like Niz said, you feel like you are going so much faster on the little things than you really are.

My bug eye cruises at 43 to 44 gps wide open sitting up. Stock cylinder lv zx pipe. I know you guys are talking about the vertical motors but 43 is about right for a stock 50 cylinder with a pipe

So heard that running anything but an OEM belt can cause all kinds of problems so an OEM belt is on order. An extra drive face claw washer is on order (mine lost a "leg" today). Then I will order some more jets within the next day or two (in the 90's size range) Then see what I can do when all my stuff gets here...

Same here, around 43mph with stock CVT and Kevlar belt. Around 48mph with after market Vario. You know what pipe and setup I have. I would love to see something over 50mph but I guess for that I need a carb, OR Vario, long belt and other gears. Current, is a bit over 11:1.
