So I am kicking myself in the head because the whole time..... ... It was a faulty carburetor!!!! I swapped carbs from the 92 jog to this one and the problem with this scooter is now gone!! The only thing is that it tops out at 40 mph, so now its time to tune. Also, I want to take the two engine mount set up out and weld up one mount that doesnt stretch the motor out to the rear. Then theres going to be some cosmetic mods like maybe a fancy rear wheel (hopefully a 12in.), and some foreign headset plastics. So its, 1)tune 2)better mount 3)cosmetic mods and rear wheel

Yeah, that's what I thought. I have had similar problem with 2 out of 3 of that same carb. Not worth the trouble IMO.

Awesome!
Good to see someone playing with a vertical Minarelli engine too! My next build is likely going to be a upright Jog engine in an old Passola.

.... So more troubles now... I had time to play with the Zog today and yea I got it to run but the good news stops there lol.
The problem now, is that it will get up to 30mph just fine then it start vibrating really bad, and it wont accelerate any further. I tried two different torque converters, 1k, 1.5k, and 2k torque/ contra springs with the same result from all of them. I also tried different main jets thinking it was lean or something I tried 90, 95, and 100 MJ's. No matter which MJ I use the vibration is still there at 25-30 mph.. I am using a Koso variator, Prodigy drive face I had lying around, and a OEM drive boss.. I also took apart the gear box and all was well inside there.
So now Im stumped. What do you all think? Perhaps the crank is not set in there properly? But, it does rotate silky smooth when truning it by hand... IDK, any input?

How's the plug? Is it screwed in all the way? What about the flywheel and stator?
I'm just thinking that maybe you'd pulled several things apart and forgot to tighten stuff up maybe? Hopefully something so simple? I dunno :/

Does it get worse above 30? Wheels tight? Forks and handle bars tight? Just throwing stuff out there......

yea the forks and wheels are tight its not that kind of vibration, ask me how I know lol. Plug is tight. It doesnt get worse over 30 mph but it does get worse on deceleration...

So the vibrations are purely speed related? That narrows it down. Just backtrack yourself and see what parts you've touched that will rotate faster when speed goes up.

I checked everything and everything was ok... Now I have to what I have been trying to avoid.. Pulling the motor, pulling the jug, and possibly splitting the cases.. So when I do that tomorrow I will post my findings. wish me luck. I just have that feeling that something is going to wrong when i peek inside the motor

So I pulled the jug and nothing seems out of place. The crank looks great still. There is virtually no free play in the crank, so I didnt spkit the cases. Also the crank rotates smooth as silk, so IDK what else to look at because I took apart the gearbox a few days ago and that was great too...
My only guess is that, that funky double mount set up could be causing vibrations some how. Also I want to get rid of it and weld up one solid mount anyway so I can get rid of the stretch, because the stretch is not good for wheelies. So I will get this mount done, shorten tge stretch and see what we got going on after that...
