I really like the Gray Motoseal 1 from Permatex. It's fuel resistant and the tube even states it's good for sealing engine halves! I love this stuff.

So as soon as you posted that!! I hopped on the Intruder and jetted over to the autoparts store for a tube of that^^ stuff.. Now the cases are joined with the Doppler crank resting inside. Fan shrouds showed up. Just a few more tid-bits to buy like rear brake shoes, and a variator and that should be it!!

birdmanHow did you put the crank inside? Hot/Cold style or did you use some pulling tools?

There she lies. My first "hit of crank" went well. tsimi I used the hot/cold method to put the bearings on the crank and then I used pulling tool to pull the crank with the bearings on it into the case halves.

Oh yah good job! Man I gotta tell ya- I much prefer the vertical mina in these small scoots than the horizontal. It's such a PITA to even get to the carb on the horizontal Jog I literally have to pull the engine mount bolt and raise the scoot up off the engine just to do a MJ change. I was really cussing this Jog yesterday! Can only move the cooling shroud forward about an inch without pulling the engine... I prefer the carb coming off the side of the cylinder on the verticals and can even pull the whole top end by just removing the seat bucket. Sorry about my Jog rant haha.

birdmanJob well done! That is a nightmare for me. Everytime i look at cranks I always think it would be sooo nice to have one but what if the bearing should stuck halfway in? Or what if the crank won't budge anymore when trying to put it into the case. Everything seems so tight in there. Well at least i have a good job for you once you are here. He,he,he.... niz76I am not very familiar with the older Jogs, but is it possible to remove the carb from the intake, keep anything else connected to it, and then reach underneath the Jog and open the two screws for the float bowl? This works for my Jog. I have never worked on a vertical Jog but the horizontal ones are a pain in the ass. Everything is very tight in there. Just to remove the spark plug you need to remove the seat and put aside some wires and then you can insert the socket.

Its the same with my axis. I have to take the carb out of the intake and then i can reach the bowl screws with a long screwdriver. I leave everything attached. But its not that bad. Almost every non chinese minarelli or piaggio based scoot needs that procedure, i think im just used to it.

I dont have much experience yet with horizontal minarellis, but from what I have done the verts are easier to do just about everything on.

Unfortunately on these CY50 horizontal Jogs there's no way to access the carb bowl even when taking it out of the intake. Shoot, there's barely enough clearance to slide the dang carb out of the intake! Gotta get the airbox off and out, but the curved angle of the frame and that stupid triangle steel piece pretty much entomb the carb in there with no hopes of changing the Main Jet without at least raising the frame up off the engine a bit... Then just hope the oil feed tube doesn't pull off the tank and you don't notice until the oil puddle underneath is big enough to creep out from under the scooter... OK I'm having flashbacks now gotta stop or I'll have nightmares about carb tuning a CY50 Jog again LMAO

The horizontal is easy to.take the carb off. Taking the cylinder off a 54mm bore a pain. There is a support bar in the way that I cut out and placed in a different location. I.Think I would do the same on a vertical if made it easier to service. It is very hard to get 24mm carb on my scoot as it hits the cylinder and the engine mounts have been stretched 4 inches. When it was stock everything was very simple..

So I got the engine mounted up. And it was all done with no welding. It just took a longer cheap RFY 12in shock from ebay and the use of the OEM CW50 mount and thru bolt. Everything else is mocked up. I still need a belt and I also need another intake and stock carburetor because Im going back to a PHGB 19 from the OKO 24. The OKO will end up on my elite sooner or later. The 19 has better clearance and I think will be a better match for my set up. So heres how she sits while we wait on more part more parts more parts. Heres the mount. Using two mounts, is that sketch?? Till next time..

Did it add another pivot point when you added another mount?
