Happy New Year to all Scootaholics! During the holidays i got my second Jog and according to birdman i am now officially a scooter addict! The new (actually old Jog) is in not so good shape. The engine starts that is the good part. The bad part so far is break pads are none existent and damaged the break disc. When pulling the break handle nothing moves. I guess the break piston that should push the pads together is rusted or needs somehow cleaning. The body parts are in bad condition but replacement will come soon. I haven't looked at the CVT and carb yet, too cold to work outside yet. Here some pics; my two ladies. the rear one is the new one. break disc break pads (look at the pad on the right. nothing left anymore!) too be continue...

Maybe the piston is seized. You will need a "disc brake pad spreader" or "brake caliper compressor" If that tool is not available then a C-clamp will do the trick. Try to push the caliper's piston back into it's bore, but be sure to remove the cap of the mastery cylinder FIRST or you may damage a seal in the master cylinder. If the piston moves back into the bore smoothly and no brake fluid leaks, then all is well. If the piston does not move or starts leaking then you will need a new caliper.

Hi birdmanThanks! And thanks for your help. To be honest I haven't looked too deep into it yet, regarding the break caliper and therefore what you are saying right now doesn't make much sense too me (yet!). I guess once i start to look closer i will understand what you mean. I have never touched the breaks of a scoot before so this is all new territory for me.

A sleeper is a vehicle that's looks stock but has Huge power and will smoke just about anything else on the road. Think driving a mid size car but with a small block V8 and not showing that there's a V8 under the hood that's a sleeper.

Not sure what i will do with the second Jog yet.

A sleeper is something (anything really- could be a car, motorcycle, or riding lawn mower) that doesn't seem fast- but it is! A good example of a sleeper is the 'Farm truck' on Street Outlaws the TV series on Discovery channel.

went to my local bike shop last weekend and there was some dudes Jog, crashed it somewhere and had minor scratches on the body parts. (light cover and right lower fender). So this customer replaced the body parts and this is the result. It looks very nice but so what i thought. ...until....this -> The customer didn't need the old body parts and the bike shop owner can't use them either so..... ...i got them for free! That is perfect for my next painting project.

Our last two stroke scoot from Yamaha was the Zuma/BWs in 2011 it's been replaced with the 4t 50. Very soon any new 2 stroke scooters from any manufacturer will become a thing of the past in the usa
