Haha I couldn't agree more! Bowtie for life! But for now these are the only ones I've found that'll swap pretty easily. Even a "dead" coil that won't run a ford or one that'll still set codes will STILL run a scooter, I've tested it just to see.

Haha now it begins. All I gotta say i have an 87 Ford Ranger with over 1.2 million mles on it still runs great and my scoots fit in the back. But really though any parts are better than what's on our scoots now!

I would rather use a ford part than try to get the squirrels to run faster LOL

Our China scooters are kinda challenged on the dependability area , but putting ford parts on our scoots is asking for trouble. ok ford guys let me have it bend over

I file this whole idea into the "sugar pill" folder.

I file this whole idea into the "sugar pill" folder. Hahaha. Is that so? I think you may need to do a little research there bud. Just because you don't understand or are incapable of performing this type of modification doesn't mean you gotta knock it. And I'll try to make a DIY for this sometime this weekend Amishsasquatch. Just hard to find the time. It really is a simple mod if you've got access to the necessary tools.

Take your pills everything will be fine. I've got a fan you can stick on your intake it swirls the air like a Tornado and increases your horse power and fuel efficiency by up to 25%....lol

I did this today, i dont know if it made a difference though because i changed the plug and gear oil at the same time. Very easy mod. Step 1: go to junk yard. Step 2: find any v8 ford from 00' up, (its easier if you find one with the head pulled already. I happened to find (i think it was a merc) sedan with a pulled head and all the coils in a pile. Cut a good bit of the wire off so you have room to find a good mounting point. Step 3: cut the spring and rubber boot just below the metal rod in the middle. Step 4: remove old plug wire and wire up the cop. In my case the green wire with a white/silver stripe was the power and the red was ground. I used a male connector thing from autozone and it hook right up to stock wiring. I grounded at the stock ground as well. Step 5: secure it whatever way works best for your setup. I used zipties.
Thats it. Simple.

Lol. Right so back to topic. Yeah it's an easy mod. The biggest difference i saw was on start up. And I'm sure the engineers who design our cars nowadays are much smarter than most of us and I'm quite sure there's a great reason they did away with plug wires and went to c.o.p. ignition. Enough said. Oh and two coils per cylinder? Huh? That's just silly.

I don't see every ignition mod as a placebo/sugar pill, but many don't do what's claimed. Never beleive it if someone tells you a coil will give you 10MPH for example. If you have a problem with a weak spark, increasing the spark intensity will help, possibly a lot. If your current spark is igniting the mixture consistently, don't expect to notice much change. One place that it seems most obvious from my experience is cold starting. When conditions aren't ideal a better spark can make quite a difference.

Enough said. I've seen that mod with a triple ground electrode spark plug also. Whatever floats your boat.

I actually run the NCY COP on my 150. It did help with throttle response by about 15 percent. Other than that it burns more gas and granted a smidgen more power but no top speed. The bracket it came with is worthless. I tried this on my 49cc and it didn't do shit to it. That is why NCY doesn't make one for 49cc. It's a complete waste of money and some because there isn't enough power to make power lol.

i have a couple of "bad" coils from a 2003 ford escape, if they will work ill use them for my GY6 swap. id use it on the 1e40qmb that is currently in the scooter but i lack the incentive to put it on at this moment.
