Would the starter turn over if the battery and starter connectors are connection to the solenoid wrong?

Yes, it'll work either way. The solenoid is basically a remotely controlled single pull, single throw momentary switch and it doesn't matter which posts the connections for battery and starter are on. It'll work in either direction.

It'll work in either direction. Ok that's good to hear, I got a new battery with a 12.45 volt charge and it did not start my scooter, it turned over a lot faster and fired up for a split second and then went back to the slow cranking dead battery sound. I then took one of my old batteries to a buddy's house to let it charge, brought it home, was cranking fast, started for a split second(once again) and then same thing, slow cranking and not starting the scooter. This was with a different starter Installed as well! Talking to the wife, I decided to return the battery, and invest that 50$ into the kick start pieces I need as I'd much rather kick start my scooter than rely on a battery, as long as it has juice to power my lights I'll be fine. Then it shocked me, my wife said "go over your scooter and see if there's anything else you need to order". Thoughts going through my head when she said that, ok new exhaust, more clutch springs and sliders, new belt, new top end, ok I didn't order any of that stuff but I wish I could Quick question, when starting my scooter, my tail light blinks on/off, is this just caused by low battery power or possibly a short? Also, I recently installed an LED taillight, could the light be stealing all of the power from the battery and not leaving enough juice for the electric start?

If the tail light is AC powered and not on with just the key on, it's normal for it to flicker at low RPM or trying to start since it's an LED. It really shouldn't be draining much power. The brake light should be DC powered though and something is wrong if it's flickering. It's not getting enough power because of battery issues or a loose connection.

I installed my tail light just before niz76 helped me clean my chinarelli engine and he hooked up the taillight to work with my brake levers, I'll have to check what it runs to but I think it runs through to the starter solenoid connection butts. I'll have to re-check in a couple days. I'm takin a break for a few days from the scooter to figure out finances, find some way to make another 100$ or so a week and also have some good quality family time with my wife and 2 yr old son! I'm ordering kick start parts today so atleast I can ride it, but would love to figure out electrical problems before I go ahead and paint the engine a High-Heat red & paint the scoot panels red & more than likely black, maybe another color that goes solid with a deep red

God damn my scooter sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ended up borrowing jumper cables from my boss, went to jump my scoot and it started up quick of course, then I needed the keys out my scoot so I took the keys out of the ignition and it cuts off, like it should. Say fuck now I gotta pull the cables back out of the trunk and restart this junk!!' Go to jump it again, fml! No lights or cranking, check fuse, thank god I had a backup. Fuse blew! Anyways that's not the worst part Was rippin down the road around the block 2x just to mess around with wheelies, fun stuff n what not, then I decided to go on a 30 minute ride, ended up weaving in and out of traffic on a 1lane each way kinda road, was fun, ended up weaving thru roughly 20 cars at a stop light just to pull up to a 150cc 4t Tao Tao that my buddy had worked on a couple times. He didn't recognize me with my short hair and glasses on, he wanted to race I said 20$ and you got it, the next light up was exactly 1.0 miles. I ended up soft seizing after riding WOT for the past 5'inutes straight, seriously 100 yrds before the light I end up soft seizing and he catches up from beyond 200 yrds behind me, and takes 20 of my last 25$. Was pissed but I can't complain, was fun and the 50-60ft wheelie from the starting line was plenty worth the 20$ I lost I need to invest in a camera for ya guys!!!!

I'm jealous. I couldn't pay another scooter to race me because I rarely ever see one unless I ride hours to the beach.

Still waiting on funds for a kick start shaft Had some guy tell me how scooters are shitty and not worth the maintenance, and try to sell me his almost new battery that he bought for 110$, for 60$. I told him he's pretty dumb to pay that much for this small of a battery!!!!!

So I met up with niz76 tonight to pick up a starter solenoid just incase mine was bad, installed and hooked up my redneck jumper cables up and let it charge off my car. It started but dies a few seconds later, have to re-tune the carb tomorrow, hopefully the battery charge holds! niz76, was nice seein ya brother! We'll have to ride sometime!

Not sure how this works out, but I keep having to spend my money to keep my wife's car on the road instead of spending it on parts to PUT my scooter on the road.
Buying 2 new front tires this week with my check, maybe I'll ask for scooter parts for Christmas instead of tools -.-

Well, I attempted to use my kick start shaft with what tiny bit of threads I have, it should work but I used the kick start lever that has 0 threads and doesn't grab and just spins. So tomorrow I'll attempt to use my good kick start lever, and if not I am gonna try to squeeze 25$ out of this paycheck to get a new shaft and circlip!
Also, how important is the kick start washer?

All of the spacing has to be right and the washer ensures that the clip has a flat surface to rest against, so the washer is important.
