I have a rubber coupler between the carb and the aluminum intake. That step, I think ur referring to is the lip of the intake. The carb is too big to have the carb and intake openings mate together inside the coupler. The float bowl hits the cylinder air shroud so I have to use a longer coupler. I'd love to make one of those atv Haggerty intakes work, but it looks like it would position my barb right on the frame. Here's a pic of the Haggerty intake I found online Never liked those intakes that add volume the size of a pint to the crankcase... Better put the reed in its original location and make a longer runner instead of making the whole thing part of the crankcase.

Maui, i read back over your build. After seeing you hit 80mph i had to put my mhr cvt back on and take the hoca off. I didnt have a pink stage 6 spring, are they weaker than stock? I did have a spring that was a bit shorter than the others ha e no idea where it came from so i put it on with some 6.1 rollers. I think i might be onto something. I have only been through neighborhood but it was still pulling when i had to get out of it. Need to add speedo back on phone so i can check it out. Thanks for the inspiration! We will see _,,,/

We will see _,,,/ The Pink stage6 Overrange spring is "extra soft". I tried a stock short one and it didn't work as well as the stage6(longer). I was using that yellow malossi spring seat as well, but I figured out that it was acting as a spacer and putting a preload on the spring making it stiffer. It worked better with out it. I,m swearing by the stage6, buy 2. It allows the front pulley to get full range. And I'm using a longer malossi belt than what was suggested by G-force atv shop. I'm using a 820mm instead of the 816. I think that makes a huge difference too. I couldn't get full range until I used the 820mm belt. I was thinking about using the 18.5mm wide belt with a variator boss shim. I'm currently using a 17mm wide belt. Its all about the fine tuning…Good Luck! Keep me posted.

I am seeing 10k plus rpm with 8.1 gears, what gears are you running? I have been running these gears for about 2 years and always thought there should be a higher top speed, soon...

Those are some tall gears!! The overrange provides a deeper start gear to compensate for the tall gears, It still pulls hard. I can beat most cars stop light to stoplight.

I have the pink spring on the way. Something i noticed yesterday (back of my trans cover is cut to fit cvt) and i was watching the torque driver whike i reved at the stop light. I rev the scoot to about 4k and the belt starts going down in the back pulley. I dont know for certain but if the belt is transferring to the front the scoot should be in motion. Could be because i am using a bit shorter spring than normal? Guess i just wait on the pink spring and tune some more. It will pull the wheel up easily up to about 25mph which take of is great but i need more top speed.

I was dealing with the same thing- getting the clutch to engage just before the pulleys opened. Once I got it set pretty good I got tons of clutch slip with this Polini Evo 2 shoe. Grr... I guess I need a Dr. Pulley Hit!

Fkit if i can get to 70mph im good The Evo2 would probably be fine for most anything else but my scoot is huge and heavy and plus I'm 260. Nice comfy ride but I've noticed it hooks up good when I take the bell off and scuff it along with the clutch pads but only lasts for a weeks and it's back to slipping again. I remember when 2strokd was still here regularly he mentioned a real good bell by Hoca that is actually knurled on the inside and that's what he uses on skeetr (I think). I never have been able to locate that bell....
