Thats about maxed out. Try the heavier weights. then try the different grooves on the rear pulley assembly.

I have 48 grams in now. Rides good but still the same "shift". When i hit about 50 mph the rpms are really high like over 10k. If i let it rev down for a second only lose a few mph then wot again it seems to "shift" gears and pick up speed again. Its really weird and this is the same problem i have had before. I also changed the grooves last night, should have left them the same and only swapped the rollers, never change more than one thing at a time...Anyway, i guess the only other thing to try is a longer belt but if it looks like full travel on the CVT is there any point? it just doesnt make sense that i have an over range and i can actually get a higher top speed with a Hoca cvt and stock td. I can only assume i am doing something incorrectly. When sitting at a light before take off( bike doesnt move until 5k rpm) i can see the belt shifting down into the TD. It seems i would want the belt to start transfering as little as possible until i am actually moving. Otherwise it seems like i am waisting travel. Make sense? gonna have to get some advice on this.

I'd rule out the longer belt, looks like you've got full travel.

Well, I brought the scooter outta the shed after 2 plus years. Brought the beast home from the in-laws. The HOA I live with is strict on loud exhaust, and so is the state of Hawaii. My goal is to make a reasonably quiet, fast moped with the cylinder I got currently.

So we had our run on Sunday. It started off bad, but ended good. First thing in the morning when I went to kick start my bike, I shredded my half-moon kickstart gear. Too much compression. So I put on the cover from my Replica engine, and it was too shallow. The case hit the clutch bell preventing the rear tire from spinning. So I had to pull the gear. Then I couldn't find this special screwdriver I use to wind up the spring before putting on the gear. I finally found it. A little flustered, I fixed the bike. It started on first kick. So I was an hour late, and ended up driving the opposite way around the island to meet up with the crew. I finally caught up with them, and finished off the rest of the run. Everyone was impressed with the speed of my bike when I raced the 72cc Dio bikes. I smoked them. But, alas, I didn't do so well against the 120cc bike. I guess there is no replacement for displacement. Heres a vid, hope you like it. Also some good wheelie action… on a side note, My bike was running between 450 and 500 degrees the whole time. After a half hour, I just stopped watching the temp, it was too nerve racking. It even went to 600 for a brief moment ( at least somewhere between 550 and 600, hard to tell at 75 mph. And All the elite guys here are running 120psi on the compression, seems too low to me www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z2mn8c9ywA Great video man I like how you race anything interesting to see that such a big scene exist on other islands as well . elites rule the island or think so ,its up the few the proud, the joggers to keep em on they toes!

Took her out, hit 60 at 8750 rpm’s. Definitely quieter, than the PG LONG. It ran well, pulled hard. Carb seems pretty close tuning wise. I Let her cool down , retorqued the head bolts, and checked front belt travel. I’ had at least a quarter inch left to go on the pulley, so I upped the variator weights to 45 grams and now I’m hittin 69.7 mph ( on gps) at 8450 rpm’s. My temps are way down compared to the pg pipe. WOT stayed cool, mid throttle got a little warm, so I’ll drop the needle clip next time I go out. I also bought that polini curved air box., to see if I can get that to fit and quiet things down more. There is a lot of sound coming out the carb.

For reference: with the PG pipe, max speed was at 79.3, @ just under 10,000 rpm’s. So I’m definitely happy with the results.
