Hey 2strokd, thanks for a reply. That's good that i shouldn't need to do the cvt.(it's going down hill tho.) I do have a malossi "green" spring coming now, It's a 60% spring? That'll throw me off balance. Couldnt find a "red" anywhere, i was looking for a 2000 red, so IDK what the green equals.. :stumped: I know it needss something, she seems to go right to "2nd gear". I do think 6g rollers.(it had 6g dp's) currently has 7g. I know under/at 6-6500 rpm(dont go till 5+ ;D) she just bogs along till 7500rpm, then it's ON.
Hopefully the cpl jets/needle otw will help.(got a 80,85mj,35pj, and a needle) I have new intake/carb(oko 21mm) setup to try out but i was hoping to get the arreche down pat before i try and tackle another oko carb.. :scared: . MY luck, it'd be easier than the arreche and it's "collecting dust"..

Good morning guys.. I need a little input. I had swapped out the needle in my carb and installed a bigger pj. It sounded good but when i took off: It took off normal butlost everything. All get up was shot, wouldnt rev. I thought it was dying but it went back to being ok, took off again. Same thing, it just lost everything. No noise, just lost any and all power, real boogy. Would that be that im to rich? need to lower the needle? Or can it be lean doing that? Thanks for any input. IDK if i made any sense here but thanks guys...

Leaner in air or fuel? Is the needle thinner or thicker? Sounds rich but it could be way lean too...
Does this happen if you gradually open the throttle or if you pin it WO? Or both? Hows it rev without a load? What size main?

Het 2Strokd, thanks man... UHHHH, lets see here... I have an air screw @1 out... The needle is thicker but SUPPOSE to be thinner in the mid..(there are only SUPPOSE to be 2 needles for the arreche..01,S1) It seems to be fine w/o a load on it. Throttle seems "crisper". I have a 85mj atm. I tried going to wot out the drive is when i noticed it. Took off great.. Thanks for any feedback.

Hmm, I did have a 90mj installed but knew it was to rich at wot and swapped it at the same time as the needle....... Yeah, i changed 2 things together..OOPS...lol ONe time it did seem that the throttle wasn't completely wot when it happened coming back up the drive.. I'll install a 90 this a.m. It seems that from any info that the S1 needle is better than the 01.

You changed three things at once didnt you? Pilot, needle, and main? The needle alone will change everything..

Good info, thanks for sharing.
I am waiting on some jets to arrive, as well the S1 needle. My understanding it's a little fatter taper the the 01. Currently I am running a 20PJ and a 90MJ. I noticed on mine that when I had the needle on the top notch that it took off like a bat, quick to rev, and the low to mid was powerful. I was also too lean.
I moved it to the middle notch and it gurgles at low to mid, not quite as responsive (still good) and hesitates for a second if I get on it hard. The plug looks better though in that position.
I am hoping the S1 will balance that out.

Yeah your right, i did... .. It wouldnt start correctly, so that meant the pj was to small.... It was rich at wot(los of power,etc.)., which is needing a smaller mj.
I wanted another needle since i couldnt "romp" on it without it dying. I could roll the throttle and it was fine.
Thats why i changed all 3 at once... So the needle alone will change everything huh?. Well if i was lean at start up, won't the fatter taper make it even leaner, hence a bigger pj?.. Its a mo fo to start, but after the 1 time it starts easy.(hadnt checked it going back to cold yet, to afraid of being stranded)
The s1 needle is fatter on both ends but SUPPOSEDLY thinner in the middle. The 01 needle is thinner trust me.. i can post a pic if needed. seems the s1 is fkn my shit up, not helping it

If you can get some pics and measurements of those needles.. Measure at both ends and in the middle.

I aslo had to swap my main spring out. I ended up getting the malossi "green" and i think it's messed the cvt up to boot. I did slap in some 6.5's with this soft ass spring.I had 7's. I just went up the rd, well tried to anyway. It didn't "die" on me like yesterday but the power loss is heart wrenching

Ok, i just went out and removed the needle... According to the "spec sheet"(idk how they measure either) The S1 needle is STD and is 47mm 21mm 22mm 1.55mm tip The end measurements i just took are 1.59mm tip 2.45mm @ top @ grooves 2.34mm mid The 01 needle is 47mm 19mm 24mm 1mm tip The measurements i took are 1.10mm tip 2.43mm top @ the grooves 2.33mm mid Here is a side by side of the needles, i know the phone pic sux.... The S1 needle is on the left and the 01 on the right. NOt totally sure how to get a better pic...

Ok, the one on the right is the richer of the two.. More fuel richer.

So, if you install a fatter needle, i would ned to jump up like 3 sizes on the mj to accomodate the needle vs the other set up? or thinner needle would need smaller mj's? If that's the case, then i was crazy lean at my power loss. Going up to a 105mj, i woulda thought it would have been way off at that point.. So my "romp" on the throttle may never come back(190 mentioned swapping needles then because it would die if you "romped" it instead of "rolling" the throttle.... IDK about anybody else but these arreches are a PITA to swap out the needles. the oko, mikuni are alot easier...lol

I could be wrong but I didn't think the slide needle has much affect at WOT. Instead it's more about the low to maybe 3/4 or so. Again I could be off. Found this chart a while back, maybe the visual can help;
