Good evening guys... Sorry i been slack but i have been under the weather this week hard... i will post a pic of my ever so slight progress of this.... I do have a question for somebody.. I am going to have to change the reeds on this. It already has aftermarket reeds on it.. I was looking at one site and found some but my ? is this..... Do you get BOTH sides for that price? a pair? Or do you have to buy 2 sets to make one reed set....(the reed cage on the s9 is a double sided 4 petal design).. (malossi VL11 reeds fit)..

She is tore down.... The parts that were gotten.. Before... but after a decent clean and still nasty... After some touchin up... Getting the degree wheel/piston stop set up for some durations...... I apologize for being so slow... I'm sure everybody would be ALOT further along by now, maybe even firing.. So how much different will the #'s be with a rs2 pipe? any ideas? Of course i'll get in the ball park anyway till i know more....

Good afternoon guys....... Well i was thinking i was on the right track this a.m but now idk... My boost #'s are low... As of right now, with only the base gasket i have;......
EX; @ 190*-188* TRANS; @ 130*-128* BOOST; @ 116* I will go out and measure again for sure. But my ? is, How can i get the boost up to the 128-130* w/o destroying the other #'s. I guess i can try w/o a base gasket to see what they are but these #'s are pretty darn close already..(the cylinder had already been ported by josh at some point).... Can i get by with the 188-190 ex on this build since i have a rs2 pipe?......... Any input guys will be GREATLY appreciated.....

Those numbers look great!I'd check the squish next, then CAREFULLY torque it down...

I haven't been able to find the intended RPM range for the RS II. Numbers do look good though. If you happen across the peak RPM or powerband and classification (sport/race), please lemme know so I can add that info to the database of pipes that's under construction.

The RSII is one of the higher revving Technigas pipes. It's a high end sport pipe, 9500-10000 RPM.

I have heard allot of good about that pipe vrs others for that motor. Its probably you can get for that engine? There is just not many made for it. I know a guy that just got a RSII-70 for his S9 with a Malossi Sport iron kit and it helped allot over the Technigas he already had on it. Cant remember what one?

The older cheapo Technigas pipes are dreadful generic shaped expansion chamber affairs, but the high end (and some of the newer models) are much better designed.

Those numbers look great!I'd check the squish next, then CAREFULLY torque it down...   I KNOW THAT'S RIGHT.... VERY carefull... So the 116* boost would be ok? I know i have a 1mm deck height at this point so there is no telling what the squish will be..... I do want to "clean" up the ex port some. It has a touch of carbon inside also.(bbk came used).. I didnt think it'd be that quick... :stumped: I figured i'd get some stuff polished 1st. ;D.... Also, i saw some "coolant" at the cycle shop the other day. Does it really matter whether you use that stuff or just antifreeze. I didnt buy any of it, figure it's just over priced antifreeze @ brent... I will look to see if there was anything in the box.. Dont think any papers at all though

They are opening the boost port late to give the main transfers time to shove some exhaust gasses out.Early opening boost ports will shoot right out the exhaust if angled wrong.I'd try it like it is and mod it later if you're not happy with it..The old school green antifreeze and distilled water(50/50) is all thats needed. Question; Is the exhaust flange angled to the right or straight down? What is the port diameter at the flange??

@ john... Good morning.. I am not totally sure if i got the right measurements for you... Appears to be.......72mm long.. (the whole flange,o.d) 37.47mm.... i.d of gasket ring 23.84mm.... i.d of port itself.(for now, will open some)... Here is 2 pics to help. The flange goes straight down... Now this pic, i would like your opinion on.. This is a airsal 70 that i was told was useless. I ran my ball hone through it and it looks like this.. This is useable,correct..(not the "stratch"/scuff above the ex. port. Still looks ok to me........ Here is my reed cage... Notice the "pits" on the one side?... Any way to correct this? does it matter? The chipped reed, which may have caused the "pits".. The reeds dont seal, so have some malossi vl11 on the way.... Hope this is the correct measurements for you..... Thanks for the input..........

The EX port looks straight, also noticed mount 'clutter' under the engine that a Mina does not have.. Is any of the plating chipped off of the Airsal jug?If not,its likely a runner.. Thats a rubber coated reed cage?Ive seen where the reeds do not seat(maybe .005"),but run great..

Hey john... The "clutter" i think.... Are you referring to the "tabs" on each side on the bottom?.. Those are actually for the center stand to mount to... The zx engine mounts that way. I hate the center stand myself.. Which this doesnt even have one... I could probably just cut that tab off for any clearance issue anytime.. The alum. cyl. has a slight "scuff" still.. I'm no expert, but it seems it should work.... ;D.. shoot, that's a $230 ALUM. kit i could ALREADY have for down the rd...(would have to buy the piston/ring, gasket set.$70).(this is also a SINGLE ring kit according to MH). Of course it would be a drag to waste $70 if it's useless.. (i can take more pics.. ) Yeah, the reed block is alum. coated in rubber.. The malossi reeds are suppose to come with different thicknesses.. These are .32mm on it now. Didnt know if those "pits" would matter or if you could even recoat the block... Yeah, it was very minute of the non seating i seen. The scoot ran good,he said, before the failure of the piston, I thought they had to seat TIGHT......

Put a dab of EasyOff oven cleaner over the scuff mark and let it sit about an hour, then try rubbing it off with a scotchbrite pad,if it comes off,the nikasil plating is good, she's a runner then.. I think the race style pipes run between the ctr stand lugs..

Hey guys.. I bet you thought i had forgot this huh?... Well, i am trying to get david straight and slacking on mine since i havent mastered this yet. I cant seem to get the flow right... Anyway, i had ordered the VL11 malossi reeds.(fit stock cage). When i got hem, the holes are narrower than the holes on the cage.. I emailed provo and they answered me today saying that i can just drill the holes to fit.. :stumped: The malossi reeds have 2 sets of holes already..(i think it's a 2.0mm difference in width between the cage holes and reed holes). Provo said they searched and those are the right reeds for the s9 but i can return them and try and find others..... Should i return them and hunt some or mod the holes on the reeds like they said can be done?? Semms like that would compromise the reeds with possible sliding, easier breakage?
