You mentioned the Athena. Everything else they make is damn good, so I'm sure the crank is just as good. i hope these are good enough for you to identify? I don't have photos of the super 9 of course

Take more pictures around the carburetor and intake area please. I need to see where the carb mounts to the engine.

It looks like it might be a Mina clone, but I'm not sure yet.

That's a horizontal motor for sure. But the way the intake is on there, it has me second guessing myself. Start a new thread. Something like ...IDENTIFY THIS MOTOR PLEASE. I'm not sure so I think more people should look.
And yeah, that was the Malossi part number I found last night.

Well, it looks like a Minarelli design. I don't have much experience with the Mina clone motors though. But from the pictures that I saw of the Honda motor, I know it's not that. There is still the Morini style motor and I have zero experience with those or what they look like. So, it's possible to be a Morini motor...??

If it is a Minarelli style motor, then you'll have a lot of options for upgrades. You won't be limited to that one Malossi top end. But you must KNOW first.

I can't commit to say what it is. I believe Elektrey has a Morini motor so I think he or someone else should see it as well.
I have to leave for an hour, but I'll be back.

The more I look at the front of that motor, where the cylinder goes, the more I think it's a variation on the Minarelli. Easy way to solve it though for sure would be to take a Mina cylinder and see if it fits on there. Maybe a friend or a nearby shop has an old junk one lying around that you can have, or borrow so that you can test this? But I wonder, how big is the small end bearing in the connecting rod? This could cause a slight problem if it's not a 10 or 12mm.
