Awesome. I think you'll be pleased once it's up and running.

Well some bad news. I only had the intentions of putting the motor back into the frame, but I ended up hooking everything up. The scooter doesn't start. I swapped out the starters cause the wiring did match my eton's. Then I ran in the alternator connectors which did not match. I ended up just cutting off the connectors and color matching them. Bad news is that it doesn't start . Battery is has lots of life, fuel is there, tested the spark plug (was weak, so I replaced it), drained the old 2t oil and put in new oil in. I think my problem lies in my wiring, but shouldn't it still start?

So you did have a spark? If so, the wiring job is probably OK, although I'd check all connections over, check grounds, and check the spark plug cap to be sure it's secure.
Sometimes the first start can be a little harder. If it's got spark then maybe try removing the airbox and holding your hand over the carburetor's mouth to see if it starts that way or sputters or anything.

Yeah I had a friend thats a little more gifted come over to help. The spark plug that came with the motor was fouled. So I went and bought a new one. We tested the new one, it did shoot out spark. Tried to kickstart it, but it still wouldn't turn on. Then he did the airbox removal and hand over it, and it sputtered. It got late and he split, so I think I'll just attempt again tomorrow. One thing that I did notice was that the electric start doesn't do anything so that may be wired wrong or the starter is dead.

Triple checked wiring according to the Eton manual. Wiring is good. Still not starting and bad news. We tried and tried even with starter fluid. Then it now makes a weird noise when cranking (kind of like a grinding sound), but after it sits for a little bit it cranks fine again... I think its time to take it to a pro

I'm thinking this is a carb issue. If it tried to start by your friend putting his hand over it, it's got spark and it should have compression.
The grinding sound is a bit disturbing. I guess it's just the starter clutch or something though. If it were damage in the engine, it shouldn't just disappear after it sits.

I believe Eton have DC system. If the 100cc came with the stator that is wired for a AC will that make a diffrents? I am lost on wiring myself.

I think if there were a problem with powering or wiring the CDI it would have never so much as sputtered. There'd be no spark at all. I could see a loose connection causing a problem, but not a totally different setup working intermittently.

Actually, I accidentally used a DC CDI with my AC scoot (back in the 139QMB days). It surprisingly sort of worked, just very rough.

Well, I have both good and bad news. Good: It starts and runs good (says shop owner) Bad: $300 repair bill. It was a fuel problem vacuum actuator on the tank was bad causing insufficient fuel. Then I guess it also needed a new starter gear assembly (it did make a funny noise after awhile of trying to start it) and he said my wiring job was poor so he redid it. I am crossing my fingers to hope that I am getting what I am paying for cause I am already over my planned budget for this scooter. Also this was the most credible shop around KC... So for the curious; 08 Eton Beamer $300 (after trailering fees) 1PE52QMG $450 shipped Shop Repair $300 Repsol 2T oil $10 NGK Plug $5 Carb Cleaner $3 Random electric wiring stuff (tape, connectors, splicer) - $20 TOTAL $1088 Went over my max I planned on spending by $88

If not for the repair bill, you would have been well ahead of the plan. I hope he did a lot of wiring or something. $300 sounds high, but then I'm not the one working on it. It may be really fair. Hard to say.
I know you're used to a liter bike, so it won't exactly thrill you like that. I do think you'll find it to be an enjoyable commuter though with your current mod list. Let us know what you think when you get to check it out.

Yeah, its still waiting on some small parts. If I didn't spend the money to fix it I would have loved to put a stage 6 pipe on it (The stock looking one), but it's better to have it running than being a huge paperweight. I will definitely post pics up of the scooter, the invoice to show you guys what all was done, and those pics of the motor I promised.

**Update** I still don't have the scooter I guess the day I went to pick it up it mysteriously didn't start... He said it was the carb being fully clogged and they needed to ultrasound clean the jets or something lol. I call BS cause it supposedly was running a few days before so how did the jets gum up to where carb cleaner can't clean it? He said it would be ready in another 2hrs, but another $100. Now I am getting pissy cause it's a $400 repair bill WTF??? The shop then calls me and tells me that wasn't the problem and won't charge me for the carb cleaning ( they better not!) and the problem instead was a stator or CDI. Anywho that was about a week ago, and it's still not running. I called and they put it on the back of their list to get done... Seems like they are nickel and diming me to death! So I need some opinions. Should I just take it off their hands or should I just go ahead and have it done, but pay in credit just incase I would like to dispute it? *I already know I am going to pull the seat off to check the wiring since they said did that if thats not done then I will automatically dispute it. - Derek
