There are some things that are not clear to me regarding aftermarket Carburetors. For example, my stock Carb has a black thing on top and there are some wires that come out from it. My guess that is the auto choke? right?
So here question 1; aftermarket Carbs don't have such auto chokes right? What happens then exactly with the whole choke story?
Question 2; do I need to replace the stock throttle cable when replacing the stock carb?
Question 3; what are those black long rubber things that I see on most aftermarket carbs?

I was ready to answer all your questions except the last one until I clicked on the link. Turns out its a two stroke and I have never messed with a two stroke carb before so I have no clue. Hopefully Brent will see this and can clear things up for you.

Some aftermarket carbs do come with auto choke and some models can be converted to manual choke. In some cases you may have to change the throttle cable. The long black thing in the picture is a boot that covers the threaded portion where the cable length is adjusted to keep the threads clean for future adjustments.

Aftermarket doesn't mean no choke,, just that it's a "better" carb is all.. You have to pay attention to what your buying if you want electric choke then buy one with it yea??

Manual chokes, they make you look bad4ss !!!! You can simply swap the manual choke for your electric choke in most cases. 2 screws and you`re done.

Thanks guys, but I need more info or better pictures. Which 19mm carb uses a auto choke? Does that auto choke come with it or do I have to remove and use the stock one? How does a manual choke look like and how does it work? And do I have to replace the stock throttle cable? My current carb has two cables connected and one might be for the oil pump? Can the stock oil pump still be used even with an aftermarket carb?
....sorry for all the questions but this is an area where I have no knowledge at all, and those carb ain't cheap to come by so no room for mistakes here.
Oh and yes, it is for a 2 stroke Scooter and the carb looks like the one the Zumas have inside it.

I know Arreche has an auto choke that comes with it on some models. They make carbs that are plug and play (other than tuning) for many horizontal Minarellis. Cables works, enricher plugs in, matches the nubs on the intake, fits the stock airbox. I'd still take a DellOrto over one, but if an easy swap is the goal they may be hard to beat. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/366/installing-19mm-arreche-carburetorSometimes you have to run a cable for a manual choke/enricher. I have an easier time firing up the scoots in any weather with manual. Manuals come in different styles. Some have a little lever that you can flip up and down, some have a knob you pull and twist, some are setup for a cable and remote operation. Dellorto PHBG with stock single cable : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/6391/installing-dello-style-carb-cableYou can hook the oil injection hose up to an aftermarket carb, provided there's a port. Lots of pics of a few aftermarket carbs if you browse this thread : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/post/28694/thread

birdmanHoly $33.99?! THAT is cheap! Don't know about the shipping yet but that price is really good. The only thing so far I can't figure out is the throttle thing. Mine looks like the one in this video. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/post/190586/thread90GTVertThanks Brent. I saw those posts already. Having a hard time finding a Dellorto 19mm seems to be sold out all over. Too popular?

Don't know about the shipping yet... $43.91! Ouch! Oh man, when ever I want to order stuff shipping is always around $45 bucks. Even if I just would order a piston ring. Shipping is really killing me. If that wouldn't be I would probably have spend $xxx by now. Something that I mentioned about that Carb is the hole that goes to the intake might be 19mm but the inner hole seems to be smaller then 19mm. Update: Just found this 19mm China Carb here with free international shipping for $23.99, any good? Or is it gonna fall apart during transportation?

Thats pretty much what I am using. I got mine from ebay too for 18USD. Its not the one from partsforscooters, I just used that link as an example. They are cheap because they are Keihin clones and not the original Keihin. Sometimes you may have to swap the wires around on the choke for it to work properly, and make sure you put your quality jets in it if the ones it comes with look untrustworthy.

I would never buy a China carb. Fuel metering is a too careful matter to let a maybe not so precisely fabricated device take care of.
Myself I only use genuine Dellorto, mikuni or keihin carbs. I'll even stay away from the PWK replica's from OKO and stage6.

I would love to have a Polini or any other brand but $$$ is the problem. And I still haven't figured out how it to connect the throttle cable to one of those Carbs. Keihin and Mikuni are Japanese brands but you cannot imagine how hard it is to even find non stock carbs here. There are some for bigger Scooters like 125cc or larger but for 2 Stroke 50cc/70cc almost nothing around. There are more Keihin and Mikuni Carbs in foreign countries then here. Go figure. The Link that Brent showed me has Dellortos but for $20+ more expensive then scootertuning.ca. The problem is the Canadians don't have them in stock at the moment and here again the shipping. I have to pay roughly 50% or more of the carb price for shipping. So if any of you Cowboys, or flying Dutchmen come by the far east just message me. Except for the person that is already here of course.
