So I got my 19mm PHBG Dellorto today (No clone, original Dellorto). And what we do with new stuff that we get? Yes, we take them apart, lol. The slider is really sturdy and heavy compare to the stock Yamaha plastic one. The needle (W9) has 4 notches and the clip is set to the 2nd from top. MJ is #75, the Pilot Jet is a 45 and there is one more Jet that says 60 on it. Choke needle maybe?
Anyways, tomorrow the new throttle wire should arrive and then I will start with the installation and setup of the carb asap. Is there anything I should be aware of?
My questions so far:
1.) Do I urgently need the hoses for the fuel overflow exits left and right of the carb? 2.) Why does the Stage6 Dellorto has larger Jets in it then the normal Dellorto carb? 3.) Is the current needle setting OK to start with? (2nd notch from top)

Why the stage 6 has larger jets? I don't know. The current needle setting is okay. You'll have to start somewhere so take the setting with the most margin for up and down settings.

Is the current needle setting OK to start with? (2nd notch from top) 1.) Don't put hoses on those, they are atmospheric vents. No touchy ! 2.) Um, those jets aren't what you need so it's not set up any better. Just sayin 3.) The needle setting is good to start with. Your pilot is too big unless you're running an open filter or you live in Denver, Colorado (mile high). Get a 40 Pilot. The 60 jet is a starter jet and you'll never need to change that. Never known anyone to have to change it. It's, like, perfect You're main is too small. I would start with a 98 and come down if you're running the stock air box. Open filter? All bets are off, but starting in the 100's. I imagine that it's pretty humid where you live? The higher the humidity, the less oxygen in the air so less fuel is needed (smaller jets). If the 40 pilot ends up being too large, you can take the snorkel out of the air box, but then you'll need to go up one, or more on the main, but this way you don't have to buy several pilots as well. Last, but not least, read this. All of it. www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/How_To_Tune_PHBG_Carburetors

Thank you guys as always really appreciate it. I removed the snorkel from the stock airbox long time ago so i might be lucky and the 45 pilot will be just right then. MJ I have all kinds of sizes from 88 up to 110 so I should have something that fits. Bought the Stage6 MJ kit and the Stage6 choke switch like spaz12 has. What kind of result in performance am I looking at when I swap the carb?

Don't know about the shipping yet... $43.91! Ouch! Oh man, when ever I want to order stuff shipping is always around $45 bucks. Even if I just would order a piston ring. Shipping is really killing me. If that wouldn't be I would probably have spend $xxx by now. Something that I mentioned about that Carb is the hole that goes to the intake might be 19mm but the inner hole seems to be smaller then 19mm. Update: Just found this 19mm China Carb here with free international shipping for $23.99, any good? Or is it gonna fall apart during transportation? Scootertuning ca.is great company to buy from shipping is extremely reasonable check them out

You've gotta give up the info on the red throttle cable! Where did you find it?

That little circular thing between the atomizer and the main jet... Throw it away.

spaz12 Regarding the throttle cable, they only had that red one. So I was just lucky. It could be a KOSO throttle cable but not really sure. I have seen this cable in two different shops here. One is from KN企画 and one was offered by a seller on Yahoo Auction platform. The Yahoo guy has the cable in red and blue. Did you now really said I should "throw away" something from the carb? You mean that golden washer or dish between the MJ and Atomizer? I read somewhere that that dish is needed or did I misunderstand something?

Throw it away. Or use it as a very small ash tray. Just don't let it stay in that carburetor bowl

I accidentally installed mine upside down once and had a heluva time figuring out what I'd done wrong. Then, when I figured it out I mentioned it on ZF to be careful of it's orientation. A whole lot of people jumped in to tell me to promptly remove it. I did and never had any problems after that. Anyway, it's called an anti-surge washer and good luck finding an official explanation as to it's intended (and useful) usage. Here is a little Wiki on it and if you click on the "Re's" you'll see many personal responses. www.mopedarmy.com/forums/read.php?7,2004671

Ok it seems to prevent something when doing extreme movements or sudden changes which is not possible to do with a Scooter unless wheelies count to that. I will remove it when installing the carb, thanks for the heads up.
