my god man so am I.....you know just as well as I do that chasing an electrical problem is a b!tch. When I worked on cars, all the electrical stuff would always get kicked to me because i had the patience for it...then...lol

Oh sure. There's nothing more exciting than stripping off wire loom and electrical tape.

Wow, that was a good find, LOL. Yes you have to kind of do the zen thing with electrical. I was remembering off the top of my head. I had to figure out how to connect the lights on my storage trunk. I have to undo, and redo the wires every time I work on the scoot, including valve adjustments. Now you know how to add lighting

Nice scoots. I still have yet to talk to my father in law about getting the one from you. Is that it in the pic?

Nice scoots. I still have yet to talk to my father in law about getting the one from you. Is that it in the pic? Yes its the one on the left with the "shower cap" on the seat. Its ready to go with a full tank of gas, valves adjusted to .004, fresh havoline 10w40 and fresh 80w90 gear lube. Its a better bike than mine. Mine came in with a few broken tabs on the plastic and the trunk doesnt line up with the rack exactly and the rack doesnt line up with the frame exactly either lol, I had to leave one of the rack bolts out. The one for sale has no problems whatsoever. 2.5 miles on the OD from going to get gas. Its on craigslist right now for 950 firm but if you want it, I can do 850. I have another on the way also but this appears to be a particularly good one. I just rolled 1000 miles on mine and I wouldnt be afraid to take a long trip on it, it just purrs like a kitten. I would be willing to sell it also for 775 to you, I know you need something reliable. And as far as the one thats coming, you can have that for 750 in the crate. I will even help you put it together...but you buy the beer

Sorry about no pics, the battery door on my old kodak cx4200 gave up but I have a new one on the way ($10)........ The 5.5's lowered the take-off rpm some which is okay..she was revving really high with only 3 stock 8g rollers in there but lawd the pull on take-off.... haha! ...was like a bullet. Acceleration is still damn good with the 5.5's but my top end seems to have suffered with the prodigy variator. However, we had 25mph winds today and I was being blown all over the road during my 70 mile delivery ride. I cant really fault the variator because of the winds that were present so I will leave it in and wait for a no-wind day. I have ridden enough around here on this bike on no-wind days to know what it was doing before so I can tell if the prodigy is helping or hurting..just gotta wait for no wind. I can see by the wear on the stock vari that the belt isnt even getting to top gear. Funny. I can't see at all why its not. no restrictions that I can see at all. The prodigy variator DOES offer excellent, smooth low to mid-range power, if combined with the correct weights (in my case 5g to 5.5g) and if combined with sliders, that would make an even better mod. As I said before, My top-end has suffered however but it might just be atmospheric conditions. Another week and a few more miles will tell the real tale. I am a firm believer in "one-mod-at-a-time". Lord knows I am itching to put the 47mm or 50mm kit on there but no, I said I was going to run this 50cc's rings and bearings until they give it up so...thats what im gonna do. Also to test all kinds of different parts and give my objective opinion here to this forum which I do love so much!. Big thanks to Brent for providing me and all the rest of us misfits a good home! Props to you! Be safe friends and keep riding!!

Smart move waiting for a calm day to evaluate the new mod. A strong wind makes a huge difference in top speed. If you are struggling against the wind, that could be why you aren't seeing full travel on the variator.

Yep turns out the 25mph winds the other day were totally killing my speed. Rode this AM with no wind at all and the top end is the same as before and smoother gear changing with the Prodigy over stock. The other mod I did today was install the Blue TZR50 Racing CDI that was included in the 50mm BBK that I bought off craigslist. Before I put it on I would always have to hit the starter a few times to crank it up cold and also it would have a crazy up and down idle while warming up. Now its one hit on the starter button and a nice smooth high idle during warmup then goes down to near normal. Went for a ride and really couldn't tell much difference in power since I am still on the stock bore and jetting but I did have to lower the idle because I could feel the clutch dragging at stops. Sure enough I get back, put it on the stand and the tire was spinning. Ran the throttle stop screw in 1 full turn to get it to stop dragging. I am sure that once i upjet and install the BBK, the more aggressive timing advance curve will make a good match with those mods. I have an 88 that came with the 47mm kit from RD that I am tempted to go slap in there today anyhow since its a beautiful day and I have time to tinker!! I do get a bit of a stumble if i am say...going about 10mph then roll on the throttle hard. I dont know if its the pilot or the main causing this. The fellow that I bought the 50mm BBK said he is still using his stock pilot jet with his BBK but he also told me that he has seen a slightly larger pilot cure this problem on some other bikes he has worked on. I am going to try the 88 main and see what happens. Also another thing I have been noticing is that after a prolonged WOT run then snap the throttle closed, I can hear a little bit of a pop pop pop from the intake/carb. With the new CDI installed I no longer hear this...whatever it was. It also could be that It was always there and I just couldn't hear it because it was being muffled by the stock airbox which I no longer run. In any case, with the CDI, its gone. Out to fight with carb bowl screws! MODIFY: The carb popping and the hesitating may be from a lean condition. I am not seeing much color on the plug at all since the addition of the pod filter. Goingto put the 88 in now ;D

Im gonna get in trouble with this bike lol I put the 88 in and moved the needle down thinking I would rather tune from lean and go into rich by plug inspections instead if vice/versa. ended up raising the needle all the way back up again. Suffered just a tiny bit on the takeoff but if you romp it at about 25mph, boy she gives a strong little jump. The 47mm from RD and the 95 main and in gonna have a little monster

Good to hear things are going well. Sometimes a little power gain makes it easier to hold off on the next mod, but for most of us it makes it tougher. Just a little taste makes you want more. Good luck waiting on that stocker to go before the 47mm swap.

lmao you know all too well exactly what im feeling i know....... "damn get that bbk ON....NOW!...NOW NOW!!"HAHA sooo here is the verdict on todays mods (racing cdi and 88 main jet) After a long ride in 10-15mph winds...I can tell an improvement all across the board particularly in the midrange. Roll on the throttle from 25-30 and she just pullsssssss her a$$ off (compared obviously to stock). She dont go any top end faster that I can tell in these conditions but she gets to top speed much quicker. And the plug is just starting to show some light tan. Its begging for some displacement. One problem. Slow down from WOT or nearly WOT to 10-15 to take a turn...roll on it...and the stumble is a bit worse. Whats this? I think possibly a larger pilot jet would help this. All in all I am having much more fun and success in results of tuning this 139qmb than i ever did on either 157qmj's I had. ~eyeballin that 47mm jug over there~
