So you're saying that the Evo packs a punch and goes up the rpms fast? If yes, then it is what I am looking for. What about the front pulley half? If it is an OR Vari then I won't be able to use the stock front face right? I might need this one here.

I'm not saying that for certain about the Evo. I can only guess based on my experience with other parts. I wish I had hard facts for you there.
I have been using my OR vari for quite a while with a modified stock fixed half as well as the stock size rear pulley. I'd prefer the Malossi face, but mine lost some teeth and I never felt like paying for a replacement. If you can do it, I'd get the new face. If not, it should still work. If you've got a stock belt, you should be at little risk since it's not gonna want to travel much farther up the pulley anyway. Could be an issue with a long belt for an OR.

It is time we get some more facts regarding that Polini Evo Variator and I am willing to play the guinea pig. Evo variator is ordered. Will post images and sizes once it arrives.
Lucass owns the speed control vari so we can compare sizes. Thanks to all for the help.

I've got a few overrange variators. The adjusting side is 99 or 100mm the fixed side is 95 or 96mm. I think that is the same od as the stock fixed half.

ryan_ottYeah, 39 for the hi-speed and 51 for the Evo. The Evo comes with 2 sets of rollers and torque spring. They are both on sale which makes the decision harder. moofus02If the OR variator is 100 or 99 in diameter then I have a same size front face for it from another variator. I just hope the angle is the same.

I wonder why manufacturers are so low info on their perf. parts? What would it hurt if they published dimensions, angles, weights, hardness, etc.?

Just looked at the Evolution variator again and there are two different product numbers. The one I ordered is 241.707 searching for that number at the Polini site won't find anything. But searching for 241.727 shows the variator. Both seem to be for 13mm crank size. What is the difference then?
