The cvt covers on the Honda Elite are split in half from the factory and most of the Honda tuners run without the back half. Ryan runs without the back half and no one has ever said all this to him. So does Birdman and his scoot is one of the fastest on the forum.

My Suzuki has an alloy cover over the variator which mounts the kick starter, the full cover goes over that and is light plastic.

Ummmmm ok scooter pro's thanks for the advice/criticism/warnings. But, I've ran thos and other zuma at speed 55-74 for years without cover/modified cover so im thinking I'll be ok. And yeah i agree NOONE SHOULD EVER  CUT UP THEY'RE CASE COVER!

Soooo I'm done chasing top speed for now.i want acceleration and general drivability in traffic, tired of waiting for the cvt & pipe to do there thing. I got this top racing/jasil variator from racingplanet (not a fan) & i hate it look at the pics- like it's made for a gy6 or what... Didnt think i was getting a oversized variator! Oh well so im didnt want to deal with RP so i shaved the V down & still hate it back to Athena Speed V. (one of the best) threw some Naraku 19.2g, clutch stall around 7500 & a Naraku 1500 black... Holy screendoor Batman! Love it needles past 40 in 3.2.1.

Now onto important topics the issue about running no/ cut up cvt covers & mainly that broken cvt case! led to some bad dreams. After much thought, i definitely agree with others in this blog that a cut up case is no case! Just don't di it. For On-track use only! If you weigh alot DON'T DO IT. no offense.. Railroad tracks- riding 2up, all of this needs to be considered. Also be sure to use ALL of the screws for the case. Not 4 or 6 or2!! even though i ran this way for yrs ( without issue) i decided to make a more conservative and stronger rigidity assisting case cover....
