I mentioned in another thread that I ordered some parts for this build. I ordered from Scooter Attack in Germany on May 30th around 10:00 in the evening. The good news is that the parts arrived TODAY June 2nd! That is pretty dam fast IMO. I upgraded the standard DHL shipping that cost about $38 to expedited UPS shipping that only cost about $4 more. The bad news is the airsal cylinder they sent me is not correct for my Kymco, even though it is listed for my motor. I guess I should have done more homework on my own to ensure I was getting the correct part. I guess a return would not be very economical, so I may just try to dump it on feebay and cut my losses, or see if the 47.6mm piston will fit anything else I have. Looks like that cyl is for the Kymco Super 8&9 / Like 50 / Yup / Cobra. The exhaust flange gives it away. You might get lucky and sell it to someone here. This was a killer deal when available. How about this as an option?
Maybe a true 50mm kit? Are you using the Malossi crank you got awhile back ? I saw that kit and was curious, but I was really looking forward to an aluminium cylinder to play with. I split the cases on the motor with the bad gearbox to harvest the Malossi crank.

Now that Athena kit is the BomB! I wish I had seen that one before wasting $125 on the other one. Actually I think I have seen it before but forgot about it.

I went to the S/A site, the only kits that will fit are the Naraku kits, the rest shown(Airsal & Malossi)will not work based on the picture shown. Check out the exhaust flanges. The cyl's are all shown in the same orientation, the Naraku's you can see the exhaust opening and exhaust stud opening, the rest you cant.
RP has your aluminum Airsal kit, you got 6 weeks to kill ? LOL

At least the Malossi Drive face I ordered from SA looks like it will fit, and be a decent upgrade. Malossi on the left, Stock on the right. These pulleys have 3 pivot pins instead of 2 like the minarelli

Well the pulley upgrade is a little disappointing so far. It appears the pulley will not close or open quite as far as the stock one did. The launch is ok but top speed is down to 40mph. There is no longer a "shift" point, but that is about the only good thing so far. I have not tried to tweak anything or even tried the steeper groove yet. I didnt make any comparison measurements between the stock pulley and the Malossi but looking back at the pictures, it almost appears the center hub part is is longer on the stock pulley than it is on the Malossi.

Welll, you should have bought the entire Malossi super high end set up,then all you had to do is"bolt-N-brag"!!No thought needed, just money,,,So now youve gotta take a close look at the before and after and see whats different and what do do about it..I'll spend 30 hours of work making a spliced setup work before a cent more is spent!Thats the way us po-boys do it!!

I feel your pain. I once bought a exhaust with high expectations. LOL

I have been riding this scoot all summer pretty much unchanged since my last post in this thread. I absolutely love it. Even in stock form it is awesome. When I want to go faster I ride the 70cc scoot, but I like the way the Kymco rides much better. This scoot gets a lot of strange looks and comments, one reason is because the wiring is still flying in the wind. I also want to mention something I found out tonight by accident. The seat bucket and seat from a Honda Elite fits the Kymco Super Fever ZX perfectly. I guess it should be no surprise that some Kymco parts and Honda parts are the same.

Yup, they both fit until you add the side plastics. I think the Honda seat sweeps a little lower on the side than the Kymco and hit the plastics. Not an issue in your setup tho.

The weather was nice enough today and I ended up riding this scoot a bunch. I had so much fun riding it during the day, this evening I decided it needed the Airsal 46mm aluminium cylinder kit I picked up from Treatland a long while back installed on it. But first I had to deal with the Derbi that has been in the way on my lift for months and months. So I pulled the Derbi carcass off of the lift and stuffed it in the corner and got to work on the Kymco. At 46mm X 41.4 stroke it comes out to 68.8 cc. A nice little upgrade but not 70cc. The kit does not come with a head and is designed to be used with the stock head. If you take a look at the piston in the link, there is a ring around the edge that allows it to work with the stock head. I also have a Naraku 70cc head on hand and after doing some quick visual checks it appeared that it should work with the Airsal BBK as well or even better than the stock one would, so I ditched the stock head and used the Naraku head. With no body panels on this scooter, the job went pretty smoothly. I was fiddling with the heads so much deciding which to use I forgot to even look at the port timings. I could not even tell you if the piston was flush with the bottom of the transfers at BDC or not LoL! The MJ in the stock carb was a 90, the instructions that came with the kit said to use a 95 MJ . I drilled out the stock 90 jet to a 96, the closest drill size I had. It fired right up so I fiddled with the carb just a bit while it heated up. I re torqued the head, slapped the shrouds and seat bucket on, and took it for a few runs. It runs great, and the power is a definite improvement over the stock bore. Being my first aluminium BBC install, I am interested in the engine temps, I dont wanna fry this one immediately so I brought it back into the shop and installed a TTO temp gauge that I picked up for the Derbi originally. I ran the motor just to check that the gauge was working, but I have not ridden it with the gauge on it yet as I still need to mount the gauge display somewhere. I will likely just tie wrap it somewhere. I hope to get a bunch of scooter riding done tomorrow, I wont mention how nice the weather is supposed to be!

I knew it would be just a matter of time before you would come back to the "Kymco side" Can't wait for the follow up report. Be nice to know how it runs in the temp department. Iv eyed that same kit for the wife's Honda, it would also be my first aluminum kit if I decide to take the plunge. Did you use the ramp plate and rollers with the kit too ?

See you just had to ride it. Then you just happen to have this bbk sitting about. I like your thinking

I did not even crack the CVT cover and I am not sure what I have in there from my last tuneup. Gonna tune the CVT eventually but first I need to get this bbk running better. It was lean a bit today as I rode, WOT temp was around 350°F. I drilled the MJ out moving from a 96 to a 99. WOT temps are now around 310° and I think that is ok but I am having a hard time trying to get the stock carb tuned through its whole range. This stock carb does not seem to have a PJ that can be changed, and the needle is not adjustable either.
