Thank you Ryan! I need to stop comparing them in my mind. I have all the porting tools too. I guess I have some homework,

Shoot, i love the look of that whole rig right there. 90+cc is wicked more than enough torque where you could upgear like crazy and still have good acceleration and cruise speed. I just don't know how stable that small of a frame is at 55mph/95kph range though... you have to keep us updated!

Got the Express running with the beautiful pipe.
The bike had more low end with the stock pipe. I feel like I cant get "on the pipe." I blame the stock port timing, stock CVT, pretty much everything that isn't the carb or pipe itself. The next steps are to open the motor and find my timings and see if I can make some changes.
Stay tuned!

High rev 54mm lc cylinder with 45mm stroke crank... then malossi or kit. Boom, superfast!
Or a polini corsa, 120mph...

My experience with Peace Pipes has been that they like a well tuned CVT. Straight groove TD and aftermarket variator (or just get an OR kit and be done with it) and at least some stiff clutch springs if not drilled clutch shoes or an aftermarket clutch. A little porting to match the pipe a bit better and it will probably haul ass.

I'm really glad that I can refer to your experiences. 190mech sent me some port timings that would be ideal for the pipe too.

In the meantime you could try lighter roller weights and stiffer clutch springs to get your revs up. Both shouldn't be to expensive together. Under $25. Amazon, parts for scooters, or scootertuning.ca should carry them.

Hello all,
I need help with finding a 16 spline input shaft that is compatible.
I realized that the 16 spline clutch components have a greater selection for bells and I saw a 16 spline shaft on eBay but the gear count on the other end is very different.
My 90 has a 15 spline clutch side count and 15 teeth on the other end. The one I saw on ebay has 16 spline but 14 teeth on the other side.
How to you get around this? Or is it not a big deal to live with a 15 spline clutch bell?

I'm trying to figure out your engine mount. I have an Express that I'd like to go a similar direction with.
Did you just weld a standard hanger across the frame gusset there or what?

Hello Thomas, That is nearly exactly what I did. It look some careful measurements and two sets of hands to get it set right and level then tacking it in place before the final welding could happen. I used 3/15 steel for the extra gussets and and pretty happy with the overall result. I don't think I would change anything with this setup if I was building another express. Let me know if you'd like me to grab some extra pics for you! I highly recommend doing this to your express. Hopefully you plan on updating the front suspension too.

I'm working with a bone stock Eton engine. I want to keep it moped looking so rather than go beefier scooter forks I have a set of Garelli forks Im trying first. I'd like to try to keep the foot pegs in place too.

I am bringing this build back from the dead! While I am saving up for the Malossi over range CVT kit, I am getting some final frame mods out of the way. I ordered a Kiesler steering dampener from SSS and am going to drill a stud hole in the ruckus triple and weld a stud on the downtube to connect them. I am also adding a brace to hold my $15 walmart thermos gas tank. Now onto finding a rear tire for the scoot. I think a 90/90/10 will fit. It looks super tight but if anyone has seen it work, please let me know!
