Ok so I got another question. This time about your mig light. Is it so you can see with the hood down and no arc? Or is it because you maybe got too dark a shade on your hood? No auto dark hood I assume. I can see real advantage if say for example you were doing lots of stitch welding and no auto dark hood.

I have bad lighting in my hovel of a shop. What it does is light up the metal around the tip while welding. Otherwise I can only see the puddle even with the hood turned all the way down. I have flood lights too but in the summer its just too hot.

Note to self: tint back side of lens because the front is too curved.

Was going to start the bike today. Filled with fluids a, all good then gas pisses out of the bung where the pump screws on. Ruined the paint.

Bummer but not the end of the world.
Continue the mockup, make it run, then take it apart and repaint. Always go in with a "What did we learn?" attitude towards stuff like this.

Happened to all my do it yourself rattle can paint jobs. Especially around the tank area. Even using the gas resistant clear coat. Something about the factory grade paint and sealer that prevents that from happening. Atleast it's in a spot that maybe unnoticeable. EDIT: When you first commented on my build thread that you were shooting for 100mph. I thought you were kidding. But now that I see your rocking a 250cc in a lightweight frame it might actually be possible.

Im sure it'll be blown apart a few times before its on the road. Just sucks. I might be able to paint it all assembled before the tank goes in.

This is why I painted T2's frame with this stuff. They just had original when I bought it last. I've constantly got fuel/oil on it somewhere and it's fine. It mostly wears off over time in areas where there's some kind of contact, like my heels sitting against the frame. Cost is the only drawback for me. No color options may ruin it for you. Cost is justifiable IMO... I mean if you paint it once every few years vs once every fuel spill... www.eastwood.com/chassis-blackI've also used this quite a bit and it has held up well to fuel spills and brake cleaner. Again, not lots of color choices. Not as resistant as Chassis Black above, but for a little cheaper product that you can walk into an auto parts store and grab, it does quite well. I think I paid about $7 a can last time I bought it. duplicolor.com/product/wheel-coating

Going to see if I can put a real automotive clear on top of the rattle can. Not sure how well the two mix. Might try this eastwood stuff or just use the duplicolour air gun clear. www.eastwood.com/eastwood-s-2k-aerospraytm-high-gloss-matte-clear.html

Fixed gas tank plumbed to the carb no leaks, cooling system 100% installed no leaks, no gear leaks,no oil leaks. Go to start and started wont kick over. Relay makes wierd sounds figure bad relay. Burb coolent hoses get a good burble wayer goes down so I fill it back up. Next day see small oil in morning before I go to work. Get back to the shop and see little drips on the ground. Leave a hunk of cardboard under to see if I can find the spot. Tonight get back from work and huge puddle.Find it leaking from the top seal for the stator wires.....pop dip stick water....
So I have a cracked head, cracked block, wrong head gasket of it even has one. I think it was assembled with a sealent paste.
Looks like the engine needs to be taken apart and while im in there see if I can make things better with a port job.
The heat sink popped off of my cpu so Im down a computer, just using the phone . Im in no hurry to fix that. AMD prices should fall a little in a couple of months with the new chipsets out for a little while.

This wonderful mix poured out of the oil drain. There is a layer of oil on top with big air bubbles trapped under it. and the milky part is all a punch of tiny bubbles whipped up from the agitation of it coming out.
