well i got the jets and drive face the battery didnt come and my 2yo nephew and baby niece came by for a visit so the scooter took a back seat but with the 90 mj in there the revs seem a lot better and there isnt a bog when i watch the tach but i only reved it up to 10000 on these bench tests without going for a ride i think the rollers are just a bit on the heavy side i think i have 6.5 grams in there right now i did get the drive face put on and all the body panels back on except for the battery cover

well project lcz was initiated today she had her first run on the road i went for a 30 min ride she is not as fast as i wanted but that has to do with having a polini kit and the leo zx pipe but dang she is a rocket out of the hole temps were about 170 deg a bit higher then i was told should be good but that was a track day guy that said to keep it around 140 and of course lcz had to autograph the asphalt

52 for a first ride is good! I figured 180 would be fine. I know squat about LC scoots though.

170-180 is perfect for a LC

I know for cars you generally want to keep 160-195. Gotta keep the temps up in that range to reduce cylinder wear. Won't see that much of a power benefit anyway in most cases by running it really cool, or at least not enough to be worth the added wear on a street setup. Not to mention, I dunno about the scoots, but it can be tough to make the cooling system keep up with real low thermostats anyway.

yeah i wasnt too worried worst case i will get 2 100 mm computer fans and use then as puller fans i still have to do the upgears and that should net me a few mph i have 15/50s to put in that will bring me from a 13.228 to an 11.023 so that should net me a 20% increase

you know what after i went back out in the garage i realized i didnt check my tire preasure before the test ride and guess what they were still set for off road playing only 15 psi so that might have caused a slightly lower top speed i have to work truck at home so there proably wont be a ride tomorrow and tuesday is looking pretty nasty so i might not get a chance to ride her again till wensday

That'll definitely kill a mph or two. One of those things you should check every ride, but most of us don't. When I just got T1 back on the road it took me a few rides to realize the back was 19psi and the front was 15psi.

yeah i have to check them a lot being i have the dual sport tires on there i do go and play off road and the one place that i go and play has a lot of loose soil and sand so i drop the preasures down and i guess i forgot to go to stop at the gas station on the way home

i confirmed it with another tank of gas this afternoon at 35 mpg no i dont think im rich im a bit on the lean side if this was an ac scoot i would but richen it up by looking at the plug i bet a heavy right hand has something to do with it top speed is 55 it takes a while to get there it loves to run 48 to 50 mph but i will say where the polini kit shines is the hill climb power i went home via a couple of killer hills that with my other builds i would struggle to hold 40 going up and this dam kit was doing 47 to 50 mph up the hills i think the gears will help my mpg a bit and heck i bet i could have gone with an even lower ratio with the low end power this thing makes i used the averag speed for a 10 mile run about 3 miles are 45 mph and there was 5 stop signs and had to turn off of one road and my average spped was 44 mph so not as bad as i thought but not as good as i hoped in the top speed zone but i fear no hill

well havent done any mechaincal work to it she has about 800 miles on the build now and seems rock solid now i just have to get the cash for the bearings to do the up gears
but i did put some mirror extenders on down side is they said there was a right hand bracket and bolt but there wasnt so i cut the reverse threads off of an old oem mirror and cut the head off of the allen bolt and welded the 2 parts together
i also started work on highway pegs i have noticed that the rad sits right close to where i like to put my right foot higher up on the leg shield to scretch out so i went thru my box of scooter junk and found an old set of moped handel bars got out the grinder cut them up and welded them back together and my grinder decides it wants to die on my its a cheap 10 year old tool shop ele grinder that has had a lot of use what i need to do on them still is take them in to work and cut the ends off on the chop saw make some mounting tabs get some longer bolts to mount them with and then weld in some studs to use bmx style foot pegs
