Got that plug to a nice brown color and it seems a lot happier response is better but the weird thing is when I use electric start it turns over but have to use the kick starter to start it must have drained the battery some it fires right up with a half kick. Anyhow the yellow springs are going back in because the ATV stuff sucks lol it goes a little faster than 40 with yellow it maxes the speedo at 50 not sure if that makes any sense? Maybe the ATV clutch slips it did not look to good when I put it on the friction pads are scored to hell
I know the ATV expansion chamber sucks but would it gain anything if I where to make an exhaust out of it I won't destroy the stock 49 exhaust because I know that works it will be a good back up.
Also I forgot to ask does any one know the difference of the 49 CDI and the 90 CDI I will see if the make a difference but I feel they are the same

You can try to sand the friction pads at 90 degrees on a flat surface. that should make them grab better, at least for a while.

Ah they are a spare lol I thought I got it all tuned in I found a nice stretch of road to hold it wot I started from 0 got to 40 and lost power I let off and then opened it up I got a loud pop out the exhaust and regained power lol thought I better not do that again.

Probably fuel delivery. The vacuum operated petcocks can shut down under WOT and scoots with vacuum operated fuel pumps can also shut down. My scoot did the same thing right in front of a biker bar after prolonged WOT.

Lol in front of a biker bar huh they get a laugh out of it? I may try the old school petcock valve. More fuel!!!! Oh almost forgot a guy on an 80s Honda maybe a spree? He wanted to race I blew him away!! . I can't wait to buy an action cam!! The best stuff happens when you don't have a can that would have been a good YouTube video. It looked just like this.

I heard a lot of laughter, a few catcalls, and nobody offered to help.
I tried to turn on my electric primer pump but the China switch had shorted internally and took out the fuse. I about ran the battery down trying to get that damn vacuum pump to work, they are crap. I finally hot wired the electric pump and rode home.
Having a ruck style scoot with the fuel tank below the carb is a PITA.

So I changed the black rollers to the stock 49 white rollers and what a difference!! Smooth fast acceleration love it. Also still back fireing after losing fuel I need to address the fuel delivery or wot might FUBAR the engine? And here is a pic of my plug after all that tuning I think I need a new one due to all of the oil leaking through the crush washer. I'm not a fan of over tightened plugs lol

Leaving the plug too lose will cause it to run too hot causing preignition etc. The crush washer and tight threads are part of the heat transfer path to the aluminum head and cooling fins.

I try to get 500 pound-feet on my plugs... My 3/4" impact does a great job.
jk
What do they list for torque on the plugs? These damn things are so small and the crap aluminum is so soft that any torque probably either rips the plug apart or pulls the threads. The size of these engines is more suitable for R/C cars or airplanes. Nah, nix the airplanes. They would fall out of the sky too often.
