OK according to my registration my Alpha sports 49 is only 1.5HP not sure how true that is all the info I can find says the same so I guess the engine from this Eton 90 I am picking up has 7.5HP at 7K if those HP claims are correct this is gonna scoot I can't wait what are your thoughts?

No substitute for cubic inches!!The 90+ stuff is an ideal street motor, plenty of off the line torque, hills no problem, mild tuning parts can be had cheap, has its limitations, but a wise choice!!

I think the 1.5HP rating is just to be sure it meets requirements to be registered as a moped in some areas. Unless it's restricted, you should have more than 1.5HP. That said, going up to a 90cc is a nice jump.

The thing goes up to 40 on flat ground I don't believe its only 1.5HP lol and sometimes 30 up hill. Tomarow hopefully I can start the transplant I think I will have to swap gearing but I don't know about the vari weights yet.

Hey Welcome to the 90cc+ 2t club cristini! In my experience, I was a bit disappointed in the stock 90cc engine when I first installed it. My nicely tuned 49cc was outperforming it. With that being said, it's not too difficult to get the 90 ripping. 2strokd pointed out to me that the stock 90cc atv engines have very mild porting and can be well, disappointing. The first tweak that I made that made the biggest difference was to swap out the stock low compression head with a modified 70cc I had made (with two head gaskets) and that really brought her to life! In the end it got a Hoca 54mm cylinder (stock stroke) and lots of other goodies and has been extremely reliable for me. These big 90cc 2t's aren't high revvers due to limited transfer space but I thinks that's part of the allure. I get a true GPS 60mph+ at only 9500 rpms so I expect it to continue to be a reliable 60mph daily driver for a long time! Here's my build thread for said scoot: (A bit lengthy but somewhere around the halfway point it gets it's 90cc Adly ATV engine!) 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/9791/scooter-diary-roketa-60mph-driver?page=1

Its only like an or two longer. Nice build by the way it fast!!

Yep looks like you have a 90cc Adly/Herchee engine there. I like them! Exactly what I'm running in my scoot. One nice thing about the Adly 90's is that they already have the rear brake components in place. If you were to get say a Polaris 90cc (shortcase) ATV engine, then you'd have to make your own bracket for the rear brake...
That engine is different than most in that it's kinda a mixture of longcase/shortcase. Fits a 12" rim and tire but basically a stretched out shortcase (uses shortcase gears) that uses a really long belt. There are a few other differences than the typical Minarelli stuff in the stator area but hopefully you won't really need to change anything there...

Nice its a strong motor even with the crappy stock 49cc exhaust the 4 wheeler exhaust actually has an expansion chamber I feel like I should utilize that exhaust some how and the brakes went together great but at first I had no idea there was a nut in the gear box to get the break pin off lol I hammered the crap out of it thinking it was pressed next time I can save an hour or so thank you for all of your replies!!!!

I know I may lose low end torque but my stock exhaust makes me think it is restricting the crap out of it does anyone know if I utilize the ATV expansion chamber and make it flow a bit better will it be worth it?

That atv pipe looks heavy, so if you do use it then you should make sure that it is mounted securely. I wouldn't skimp on the materials to make a beefy mount.

Dont waste your time making that ATV pipe fit,its crap too!Can you fabricate/weld??If not an expansion chamber type exhaust pre built for a Mina clone would be a start, tailpipe diameter is a big concern with 90+ motors as the CHT will skyrocket and fry a piston/cylinder with 50cc sized tailpipes(stinger)..Getting a 50/70cc expansion chamber, then adding some belly length and a bigger tail pipe/silencer would be a nice improvement...
