Get the TGB you will not be sorry. Waiting for the guy to get back to me. I was about to pull the trigger on a 70's mobylette, but I got cold feet. They are a little harder to work on than a gy6 or a Puch. Parts are available but they are spendy. If I wanted to fight with something over 40 years old, I'd tell my wife how much I spend on this hobby

I owned 3 mobylettes back in the 70's. Great mopeds, but not a scooter.

I owned 3 mobylettes back in the 70's. Great mopeds, but not a scooter. Mopeds were my gateway drug to scooters. They are so uncool they became hip. I was too young to own one in the 70's. Long story short, if I held on to my puch maxi I wouldn't be here.

Update: the guy with the tgb got back to me. If all goes as planned I'll be screwing up Taiwanese 2 strokes!
Then it will be time for partoutapalooza.

Maybe it won't go through as planned. But I may end up with a roketa mc8 for 40 bucks. I can just drop in the engine and have a ton of spare parts. Not as good as a taiwanese 2 stroke but parts is parts as they say. How much of the plastics cross over between the sunny type 1 and 2?

Update I got the 139qmb the guy had. It's a roketa sunny type 1 from 08. There shouldn't be any compatibility issues. I dropped the engine and tonight I'll put it on my bike and strip the donor bike for parts.

Heh, why do you think I have the OEM cylinders and pistons laying around ")
But I highly recommend the Glixal 80cc kit, I have over 3000 miles on the first one I installed without a glitch. The Gilxal 20mm carburetor has turned out well too.

Whoops I meant to say 100cc kit. I guess since I have a 47mm head that is the "80cc kit" I hate it when they round up. They outta just say 72 and be done with it

Actually I think a lot has to do with the way the chinese calculate displacement.
I went with the 80cc on both scooters, 40 is fast enough for a 10" wheel on toy shocks...

I got good results from my 72cc kit BUT somewhere along the line I screwed something up and it leaked oil like crazy
