When I first got my Honda it was supposed to be a secondary scooter to my jog, but when I started tuning the Honda, it quickly became my favorite scooter and now the jog has been on the back burner... For now at least, I need to put the jog back on the operating table.

Holy smokes. How did I miss this thread!!! Lucas has a honda? Did hell freeze over?! All the stuff for the af05 is drying up fast. Just do an af16 or af18 swap and then the sky's the limit. I would guess 55 with that setup you have cooking for the af05. Congrats on the new Scooter and welcome to the dark side Hehe! And i really like this little honda! The af05 stuff is still plenty available over here. Theres right now a brand new alu nicasyl Polini on that aution site i bought the proma off! There's some site which sells an alu nicasyl gilardoni. You can buy still new several gear sets from malossi, top racing, doppler, pinasco etc etc. Homoet pipes still sell new. The list goes on. There's not that much on the market for the af05 as there is for minarelli's or af16's, but all they ever made for the af05 is still newly available over here! I did a speedrun todat btw. The gps read 76kph (downhill) and i think 70kph (43mph) on flats. Thats with everything bonestock except for the polini 47mm and a 16/32 top racing gear set. I guessing the proma pipe will add around 6-7mph. With the pipe i'll probably end up at 50mph. The intake is very poorly engineered so i'll probably do some upgrades there later on.

Bought another one hehe. This one popped up about 1km from my house, seller asked €125. Im gonna pick it up this saturday. Dunno what im gonna do with it. Maybe build an identical pair? Or sell it to a friend so we can both be super cool at the same time.

I first voted "41-50mph"
After reading ALL of the thread and seeing all the go fast goddies, I voted 51-60mph.

I first voted "41-50mph" After reading ALL of the thread and seeing all the go fast goddies, I voted 51-60mph. The proma didnt really work out btw. I thought it would be a little rocket with that pipe but it became a turd. I think the pipe needs kinda high revs which my cylinder/intake combo cant really support. I tried all sorts of roller weights but i cant seem to find any powerband with that pipe. High revs or low revs...i don't get into the powerband. The strangest thing is, with the stock pipe it has instant power and it just goes! Really lots of torque. But with this proma its just like a restricted 50cc stocker. I think this pipe belongs on a ported and flowed engine. But the coolest thing is it really sounds like a lil dirtbike with that proma. That typical proma'y 'tin can' sound or whatever you wanna call it. So if anyone's interested? Its done maybe 100km's in total now.

I had the same problem with one of my pips. Had to set up the CVT for 6500-7000 launch rpm's, anything less the engine would run like the choke was on.

Love this thread. Can you pm me a link to that site with all the af05 parts? Over here we use a c.t. "big valve" intake manifold on these motors with a kx65 style reed block.

How low did you go on the roller weights?

How low did you go on the roller weights? I went down to 6gr. Stock is 10gr and now theres 8 gram in i think. It doesnt matter what weight i put in, acceleration stays the same. Also another really strange thing, i needed to downsize 20(!) jetsizes when that proma was on there! So this weekend im switching back to the stock pipe.

I know it's a different engine and I never used a proma but when I was tuning my elite for the first time with a PG short, it took 5g weights before it thought about moving. Some guys report going as light as 3.5g with their setups. I would put the stock jet back and try 4g weights to start. Variator is not restricted I assume?

Stock jet was 88, worked SUPER with the stock pipe and just the polini alone. But when I put the proma on it didnt even wanna move, not even with the airbox removed. So after trying several jets, 68size worked best with the stock airbox on. Never experienced this fenomenon before, so im super confused about it. I could go lower on the roller weights but I feel like im not gonna find any power higher up in the revs. At least not with this setup. Anyway, i don't feel like trying any more to get it to work. I liked that torqey engine with the stock pipe quite a lot actually.

So yeah...been away for a while as some of you might have noticed. Had my attention on some other things lately and put the scoots on the back burner. But no worries! They're still there! - So the axis is laying some where in the corner with a flat tire, rode it a lot but got dead tired and desinterested of the stock setup. I need to buy a new piston and it should be back on the 70mph track. - The Honda vision developed an airleak, engine is all apart now for new bearings and seals. Gonna convert the head from normal head gasket to o-ring to raise compression and make better use of the squishband. - Fixed up the Cr500 doing some little repairs here and there. Bought some front and rear LED lights which i still need to build loom for (might need your help on that guys!). I might sell it in spring. - Been working a lot on the Volvo. Nothing fancy...just repairing and servicing stuff. Trans blew up a while ago and been slowly fixing that and replacing stuff like timing belt, waterpump, worn out blow off valve, heater hoses yadayadayada. - Bought another car just for not having to ride the scooter to work during winter. What car you ask? A 2000 suzuki alto for €150. - Je moeder is giving me hard times. Tried selling it to two people and it broke two times just withing one week. Threads on the crank are busted so it needs a new crank or welding the cooling fin to the crank. Anyway, i lost interest in it so it's also somewhere in pieces in the corner. Right, some pics This thing is tiny! But it has great gas mileage, cheap tax and insurance and parts are dirt cheap! But i wouldnt wanna get into an accident with this though! It has a all aluminium 1000cc 4cyl 16 valve engine which develops some 60hp. Very nippy little engine. This bugger has kept me busy for some time now! Did a ton of small unrewarding repairs and stuff. A well the life of a cheap student trying to own an expensive vehicle ain't about roses. Bought this pipe for €20 the other day. Its a hand made SPES especially for CR500 engines. SPES is no longer in business and since EVERYTHING cr500 marked is rediculously expensive these days i thought i might clean it up and flip it. There also a SPES on the bike and i know these pipes rip on a 500. Or keep it and start my own 2t exhaust museum (ps: i might sell those....) Did i ever showe you guys this super manly poster i have on my garage wall? This is 'Roberto Jacketti and the scooters' and he was some lame ass douch from the 80's. He had like one minor hit in the Dutch charts. Anyway, look at what the guy 2nd from the right is sitting on!
