The last time I used my BBQ I was trying to boil water and chemicals to soften rubber. It has been a long time since I cooked anything on it. I can do burgers, hot dogs, and steaks with seasoning in the air conditioning with easier cleanup so that's what I've been doing for those things. I think Burger King is about as close to grilled as I've got lately. lol

I love using my grills and my smoker. Mostly everything we make goes on them. Whether gas, charcoal or wood I love it all. Bacon on the grill for BLT's the other night and today ribs on the smoker with apple wood. So what's cooking? Do you have instructions for converting that mini weber to a smoker? At least I think thats what you did.

It's a Weber smiley Joe with a tamale steamer pot with the bottom cut out. I've had this for years and it works very well. The only addition is a charcoal ring to allow for air space. When I'm done with the ribs I'll get a picture of the pieces. It's well used to say the least! virtualweberbullet.com/miniwsm.html

There's only one problem with bacon on the grill... Burning off the aftermath! If you make bacon on the grill my tip: low heat, lid open and don't walk away for your beer.

There's only one problem with bacon on the grill... Burning off the aftermath! If you make bacon on the grill my tip: low heat, lid open and don't walk away for your beer. I had the same problem when I tried to use el cheapo burger on the grill. Most of the burgers melted away and caught fire. Had to start using leaner meats. Won't even fry one with the cheap stuff anymore. I just use that for meat sauce with spaghetti, tacos, and maybe a meat loaf. I like to cook lazy week meals for the house, especially around car show times when I wanna be able to be gone riding and not worry about much meal prep. It's also cheap. I'll make a meat sauce for spaghetti. Cook noodles 2 nights in a row. Then we've had enough of spaghetti. Cut cheese into blocks (I usually use sharp cheddar) and toss that in with the leftover meat sauce and mix it together. Store in the fridge and then the following nights that can be spooned onto bread, burger rolls, etc... and put in the oven on broil. Doesn't take long to heat up and get the cheese melting and then they're done. We call 'em pizza burgers. $35-40 worth of ingredients can feed 3 fat adults for as much as 5 dinners with very little time required and I like the taste of all of it.

we ought to organize a 49ccscoot and smoke event. I could see it now a couple hundred scooters with pull behind smokers going 25mph down the freeway

Not bad for an out of town for work hotel meal. Chuck-eye steak, garlic broccoli, mini sweet pepppers, on a bed of brown rice.

Looks good to me. I've got a smoked pork butt planned for tomorrow for pulled pork sandwiches with my own sauce. If I feel energetic I'll make some slaw. I'll get some pictures tomorrow.

Sounds good to me...I can't wait to get home and do some barbecuing. I'm still in a hotel for work. So I'm rocking a Presto cooker
