First time doing air-fried baked potatoes. These are easily the best baked potatoes I have have ever had. Coated them with avocado oil and kosher salt, in the fryer at 400F for 40 minutes, turned over at 20 minutes. Being a skin-eater... thick, bold, and crispy. Potato cooked all the way through just right. Perfecto!

Damn you and your air fryers! I got a free air fryer from a friend. Too big for his small apartment he said. Dropped it off at the door last week. It happened to be the day that I had a grocery pickup scheduled so I added 2lb of crinkle cuts to the order. Oh, I was eating a pile of fries that night. Just try and stop me. Fired it up and fries started falling out of the rotisserie basket. Fine. I'll put 'em on a shelf. They fall off of there too. Whatever. Supposed to be done in ~15-20 minutes at 400-450. 40 minutes later I've got fries that make the wall oven seem like a miracle machine. Some are burnt, some are undercooked. None are crispy. Depression set in. Where are my delicious fries? All it says is "Ginny's" on it. So I look up Ginny's air fryer and can't find one like it. Eventually found a pic that matched. It's a rotisserie equipped toaster oven. Son of a. So I ended up with 2 pounds of crappy fries, a toaster oven stuffed in a corner for a yard sale someday, and I no longer wish to speak to the guy that gave it to me. You can't just crush a man's dreams of easy crisp fries.

Potato cooked all the way through just right. Perfecto! Thinking about getting one of the air fryers. Do you mind telling about yours? No prob. First started with online reviews (can't remember which one struck my fancy the most) and ended up with mental list of "MUSTS": Requirement #1: No digital buttons, no digital readouts, no ridiculous, unnecessary, and/or useless functions. Simple and ANALOG. Requirement #2: Glass window to keep an eye on your stuff while it's cooking. Requirement #3: Roughly the size of a toaster oven. I considered replacing my current toaster oven with a air fryer/toaster combo unit, but they're more like the size of a microwave. So, yes, yet another appliance on the counter, but main thing is, dedicated functionality, no compromises in quality due to dual role capability. Requirement #4: $100 or less. Winner: Cuisinart AFR 25. Paid $83.15 w/ free Prime shipping. Personal review points: - Basket is about 11x9". Good single serving size IMO. - Glass window is nice, but wish it had an internal light. - Sitting on the counter, the handle is about 15 1/2" from the wall. Only 12" wide. Nice size, looks nice, no weird angles or anything. - The outside surfaces do not seem to get overly hot while running. - Cook temperature goes up to 450F. 400F has been about the highest needed for anything so far. Experimented with 425, and those were some crispy/crumbly fries. - Cleans up quite easily. But I usually do not bother after each use. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes

I make this pretty often. I remember my mother making this when I was younger, probably why I like to have it. It’s also a good way to clean out the veggie drawer.
