Cool now the work can start. 😁 Did you realise this scooter has never had an MOT since it was new?

I have a soft spot for the cg50. It was my first scooter. It taught me a lot.

Yes I checked his history, there are only 1798 miles on the clock so I think it broke down and got parked up in a barn for 28 years,a white\red wire had broken and with that repaired it fired up .Birdman what kind of speed would you expect from a stock motor, has anyone seen this exhaust,I bought it on spec for £25reasoning that it must be better than stock.

The '88 jog i had would hit 70kph with a range of 65-70km per tank at WOT with 100km being possible if driven nicely

Has it got a restriction in the header pipe you can remove? I don't recognise it. Looks just like a generic aftermarket replacement.

Maybe 40 stock. After I did a pipe, BBK, carb/ intake, and some cvt tuning, it pulled 53 mph but was a wheelie machine and got to 53 quickly. It needed taller gears, I could never find em.

Yes its a vert mina. All the prebug stuff fit (cylinders, intake, and pipes) the geometry of the prebug is different ie higher off the ground, so prebug pipes on a cg50 hang a little low but work great. The clutch and bell from a horizontal jog fit. The variator was the larger size jog drive bosd, there was 2 sizes 15mm and 18mm I think. Or maybe it was 18mm and 21mm I can't recall. Either way it's the larger one

Even though it is not listed for it.

I have uploaded some pictures to an earlier post I decided to go for the 'surviver'look and may uprate the engine and CVT as and when I can afford it.as a UK spec it came with a chrome luggage rack with the rear lights on it,l found it ugly and deleted it.the lights you see now are discontinued Yamaha parts sourced from Philadelphia ,Greece and one from Coventry(UK).
