The slow rolling to 10 mph suggests Stiffer clutch springs may be the fix . Is your top end still the same ?

When did you last check the rollers? If they are a bit flat it might do this.

Well it,s been a while, grandad has had almost a year "resting" in the garage so it,s time to blow the dust off and get him rocking, I stole his coil for the commuter build so with that replaced and a tadge of easy start he fired up easy enough, some blue smoke but that will burn off. Next up will be the MOT test and then road tax then we are good to go. Geoff

Rocking grandads up and rockin all ready to go,starts first kick, not sure about the slow roll start we have,nt got that far the headlamp and tail light are not working, the bulbs are fine so it,s a switch or connection I have to chase down!! The manual asks me to check the lighting resistor?? Is that the white 2 1/2 inch by 3/8 block of porcalainey stuff near the horn (picture refuses to load).anybody know??

Check the actual voltage and earth wires with the bulbs out. I was chasing my tail for a day on the slider. Turns out although the bulbs looked fine. It was shorting to earth from inside the bulb. Once I removed the bulb, all the checks came up good. Before that, nothing. The bulb holders, especially the headlight metal prongs can bend back not making good contact too. Good luck.

Lights back on and functioning,I couldn't,t find the fault so I stole a live from the ignition / on side and have lights on without the engine running not ideal but I can live with it.had to cancel the MOT appointment but they were nice about it. I will see what Monday brings work wise and hopefully use the truck to transport grandad to and from the MOT station.

So I put the rear brake/tail bulb in wrong and fried the stop switch . I,m on staycation so it,s not a show stopper but it,s taken a while to source, but worth noting there is an old type and a later switch, the later switch is predominant on flea bay so be careful if you need to buy one.part numbers/picture and vendor when it arrives.
