Is the later version the small grey plastic screw in type? I was trying for six months a couple of summers ago to get a Peugeot switch for my brake upgrade. Couldn't get them anywhere. Even the dealer couldn't get one! 😡 had to modify the lever to fit a yamaha one.

I, ve posted a picture back there, that's my old version the locking tabs are right at the end the later one has tabs midway down the switch, the grey switch you mention is too large but I was contemplating a lash up with one. Yamaha miss this from the manual!!! to remove the brake light switch simply insert a rod into the underside of the switch holder and remove the switch,I am not sure how long it took me to figure it out but devious eastern minds nearly had me whooped. Geoff So the switch arrived this morning less than 24hrs from order, neat company,My Motor Parts ltd DN3 1RA, the part number is 728009, £7.50 inc shipping. The switch is fitted and working

Grandad passed his MOT with honours this afternoon, the inspector cut me break the horn has to work on both full lock positions( course I knew that) mine didn't,t on the left lock, the guy said "just sort it out" .So MOT £30 and road tax £21 we are legal once again. The embarrassing slow roll start is still there, there was hiccup going to the station it almost cut out from 30mph down to 5mph then back up to 30mph,I will strip the carb and transmission tomorrow, standing for so long has it,s costs. That's great news Geoff. Back on two wheels. Are you going to get the other jog sorted now?

Yambws,I had mine shipped across London by a bike moving company 2 scoots at 2 locations 1 delivery,£150 sounds pricey but he was nice guy, If you can wait for their schedule you can get a good deal
Paul, the 02 jog was dragged out of the corner and checked over,it,s to far gone a money pit I,ve robbed off it for years just forgot how much stuff I,d used off it but the£80 I paid for it was well worth it. Geoff

Grandads slow roll is carb related, the pilot jet was blocked the bowl had dirt in it,rebuilt and it,s OK ish it,s not as snappy off the line so I,m going to clean the carb again and again probably. it feels really good to road test all legal. Geoff

If it,s an old jog your after they are far and few between I have only seen half a dozen for sale some are basket cases or overpriced runners. Go see your local breaker and register an interest your Yamaha dealer might help. Geoff Have a look at "how many left" no idea how accurate this is but cg50 =4 escort rs2000 =500 ,so all I need is a footballer to buy one of the four and I can retire .

After a lot of faffing with the carb its really clean now and generally getting nowhere with needle clip placing I opened up the CVT cover and found the problem
The variator was stuck in this position and not returning to its low gear setting there was just tad of rust developing on the center bush, cleaned up and reassembled and Grandad Is back to his old self no more slow roll Geoff

Off to the locksmiths next,I have only one key for Grandad ,I recently mislaid a bunch of keys and had them run over by a truck then refound them, the key is ever so slightly bent now,the steeringlock does not work I,m not sure it ever did or I ever tried it Geoff

Panic attack tried the steering lock it went on then wouldn't,t come off 10 minutes of jiggling around required to free it . Just for the record the H*yn# manual lists a very simple headlamp alignment test that led to some confusion and pretest worries, goggle really is best for this particular job. Geoff

Well grandad has been press ganged into the daily commute,a new job means its a little further 16 mile round trip, but it,s doing well four trips so far,a slight miss or hiccup from cold start but that just disapears when warm. He threw me a curved ball tonight while waiting at a red light on up sloping hill I hit the go button and the front end came right up "a wheelie" god bless him he,s trying. Came home changed some clothing then tucked him the garage with some coco. Geoff

Plenty of life left in him yet. That's the same distance as my daily commute. It's all 30 limits, apart from a tiny bit of 40. The scooter is ideal. You tried any E10 yet? Cost me an extra pound to fill up with premium on Friday night.
