Put a resistor plug in and didn't change,but thanxs for the idea. I called Trail Tech/Justin and says I got a bad one and is sending me a new one. Was told by Tech it doesn't have a 1 cyl operation for that model. They have great customer support. Sorry the plug didn't work....at least you found out the unit was bad. I had great technical support from TT.

Got the intake and pipe installed.I made a small mod to plastic intake tube. dremeled the plastic down so it has a smoother lip.......Before After I got it running but need to dial carb in. I ordered the carb tool from Pro Motion $10. Should be here in a couple days. The new pipe..Dr D is kinda loud. The new Trail Tech Tach isn't working either,the red wire that meets the black doesn't connect right. It stops working if you bend it a certain way and it still jumps all over when it is working. The tech at trail Tech told me to tape just an inch of red wire. I've tried taping it in several places.

Have tried to tune the carb in after jets 38/85 and shim It runs smoother at the higher rpm. When I let off the throttle it takes a bit (6-8 seconds) for the motor to slow down but after the adjustment it came down quicker (4-6). When you let off the throttle it wants to keep rolling and have to brake harder to slow down. I'm thinking jetting,shim and DR.D's pipe is why.Right? it should be doing this cause of mod? It goes up to 30 mph. good and then falls flat 2/3rds throttle and pipe starts to flutter like it's the limiter,if I stay on the throttle it really starts fluttering hard goes up to 37-40 really slow.Maybe go to and 80 on main jet? I haven't added CDI yet. Would like to see if I have things right before I do.

MJ is too big. Stock motor w/ exhaust use 80MJ. Did you GET the new TTO?

Yes I did,but can't get it to work right.I think I got another bad one. It still jumps up and down,shuts off intermittently. When I touch where the red wire meets the black it shuts off and pops back on. I'm going to try the old one on another bike. If it doesn't work,I'm going to call them again and see if they can test one before they send it. Just ordered some jets too,got a 78 and an 80.

Ive never had a bad one. Tap the red wire around the spark plug wire a few times and secure w some electrical tape. Start up. Then push the small button on the front of the TTO to select the correct pulses per rev.

Ok,found it. Wasn't holding button down long enough. It has .5 1.0 2.0 and 4.0. it helped steady out at 2.0 and 4.0. Thanxs

Worked a ton of hrs last week and have this week off to work on it. Got a chance to do some tuning. Changed main jet to 80. Set TTO gauge at 1.0 ppr and set idle at 1150 rpm.I can get it down to 850-900 rpms. before it almost dies. Got it as high as 8,100 rpm's with stock cdi still. Rev limiter or pipe flutters at 30mph still.Goes up really slow from there.

I should be ready to change CDI? or figure out why it flutters? is it rev limiter?

Installed NCY..CDI and no more flutter,revs all the way up. Goes up to 35 good and then slower to about 40-42mph. The engine turned off at the key 2 times and now it takes longer to shut off....about a min. or so??? Happy with the results so far. Thanxs again for the replies,I really appreciate it.

Never had the key issue. 42 is pretty good. Time to shave the drive face nipple and GET a gates belt.

Have seen different #'s for Gates belts. I have a 2003...I think this is it>(PL30509)..but these too also popped up 20509,30504. Could you tell me more in detail about shaving the drive face nipple.How to?...or link. I have access to lathe.Tried looking it up and only got vague idea. Getting ready to do the brakes too. Thanxs
