ok i REDID thevalves till they were prefect, i jetted the carb till it was at its sweet spot, i adjusted the idle so its at a nice soft smooth idle took it back to the half mile yaaaay i got 41.4 so for the mornings work i got 1.4 mph gain (thats a sarcastic yaayyy) Somethings wrong, i feel like yanking the exhaust off and running it out and see if i get my 55 mph back? ? Any thoughts

I probably would try it without an exhaust at least quickly. If there's 15-40MPH difference in the top end, you should be able to tell you're making more power just taking off with it if it's an exhaust or engine issue. Should be obvious I mean, no need for any extended run time. If it gets no faster then, I'd think it would be CVT related.

UPDATE
So last night we had 40.1 mph then i tuned valves adjusted jets, 41.4 mph removed airbox and filter 44.2 mph removed exhaust system 46.1 mph (not enough gain to remove the exhaust IMHO)
next ..... Im telling you this scoot went 65 easy when it had the old head on, so weird i know something is missing from the picture but not sure what that something is!

someone just suggested on scootdawg to use washers to get backpressure back to the engine

Why would you do that when a lack of backpressure just gained you 2MPH though?
Were the combustion chambers different on the 2 heads? Perhaps more compression with the old one?
Is the plug black? Getting a gain with removing this stuff makes me think you're running rich now.

I'm saying why would you want to create more restriction adding washers as someone at SD suggested after just seeing that less restriction gained performance? Just doesn't make sense to me.

well with the help of a great guy named dean, who has a rockin geely and a great attitude the trip is now plotted, i cant thank dean enough for his tireless effort, and i know the program (MS Streets & Trips) cant always be easy If anyone is really interested in this you can click the link below to see my trip route planned (remember traffic, weather, road conditions could alter this route anytime) www.realityoneradio.com//ztek/KW/OFFICIAL_files/OFFICIAL.htmI am also happy to report a website will be created exclusively for this trip, it will include daily reports, links to a facebook, photos, videos and blogs from the trip, and my favorite REAL TIME gps tracking of scoot on the trip to key west. Stay tuned Remember if you dont want to read through all that map stuff you can just go to the collaboration worksheet, look for the sheet titled "TRIP PLAN" there you will see the miles per day and stopping points on this 8 day journey down the east coast. thanks everyone!

That looks like a cool plan. Keeps you on the coast a lot more, tends to be more interesting riding.

Is the plug black? Getting a gain with removing this stuff makes me think you're running rich now. This is the plug as of this morning, might not be able to see it in pic but the electrode is pure white with some black flecks in it, the rest of the plug is black, no oilly smell or gassy smell on it
