The plug shouldn't be white. It should be brown. And those flakes are a dead sign of something wrong. Looks like it's running lean to me.

and so now that REASSEMBLED the damn scoot again you guys are telling me what exactly i just took it for a ten mile cruise it performed beauitfully up around the lake, gave it 3.00 worth of 89 gas and brought it home, What do i NEED TO DO to fix the issue, FYI the jet on the side (the screw) is exactly 4 turns out from closed

" Dangerously lean. There's either an air leak or you need a larger main jet. You are destined for a melt-down yourself if that doesn't get fixed. "

You can turn the mix screw all you want, it won't fix a small or large main jet. I would try a larger jet and see what happens. If nothing else, try the airbox installed again.

Mixture setting... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=carb&action=display&thread=429The proper setting is pretty much whatever works best. Hopefully not all the way in or so far out that the screw is loose. The addition of the airbox will richen the mixture. Could be too rich with the airbox and too lean with it off. Hard to know. Lean makes more power, but also makes more heat and is more likely to cause serious problems.

Here we go again, i am currently troubleshooting a no start condition on my scoot
1. she has gas i filled the tank, gas is flowing to the carberator 2. she has air all lines are attached and flowing, there is a SMALL crack on a line coming off the carb but that is a vent line and isnt transporting any fuel 3. she has power from the battery and she is getting spark with no issues,
she will turn over but no start, any thoughts on where to check next!

Is this the new scooter now or still the old one? If it's the new one, they tend to take a bit of cranking to fire up the first time. See if the plug is wet so you know if fuel is getting into the engine.

just tore down the entire carb and went through it and cleaned it all out, i bought a rebuild kit from scrappydawg but it turned out to be a waste of money (only the float and the float pin and ONE screw fit my carb, so i guess these are NOT universal rebuilds as they say, i spent 9.95 on a float lol)
I did clean it up and put it back in she has spark, has fuel, no start, she turns over though!
