If you did as Brent said and found that the plug is wet and smells of fuel, then your problem could be spark-related. Did you check it? Remove the plug, the attach the spark plug wire. Ground the thread part of the plug to the frame and turn the engine over. You should see repeated arcing across the spark plug gap if all is well. If you see no arcing then you need to check all the wires going back to the battery. Spark plug-ignition wires, ignition-CDI wires, CDI-timing sensor wires, etc. Check for current at every stage.

Brent,
Any thoughts on this, i am getting spark, im fairly sure fuel is going to the carb, i can see it in the line and in the filter, someone said it could be a cdi or pickup coil, but research on the web says pickup coils RARELY go, and also as for a cdi i dont even know how to test it
HELLLLLP!!!!

Be safe dude. Hurricanes come my way several times a year every year. Just don't be stupid and go outside after the wind dies down. That would be the eye passing overhead, which means the tail end is coming at you from the OPPOSITE direction as the first winds. Keep a small window on the leeward side of the house open to equalise the pressure inside the house. Stay away from windows. Put all documents in water-tight containers and keep them close to you. Don't use candles. Keep a listening watch on the radio or the tv if you can. Stay safe!

Tango i just saw your post must havem issed it (damn the no auto reply notification feature not working lol) I took the carb apart today before i packed the scoot away for the storm coming, there was NO FUEL anywhere in the carb body, keep in mind i just cleaned it the other day, so there should have been fuel in it from all the cranking, i could still smell the carb clenaer on the dry metal, Also the plug has NO FUEL on it whatsoever, so if this is electrical (which i am saying i dont believe it is) then its got me stumped I am leaning towards a fuel filter might be clogged, ill check after the storm passes thanks

Ok storm is over back on subject, i have now had 5 offers for the scoot, but i wont sell it like this we know that 1. she is getting spark 2. she is getting air 3. she is not getting fuel we know # 3 is right because when you take apart a carb you should have fuel in it, which i did at first, but after reassembling and cleaning it out i took it out again after trying to crank it over, no fuel it was dry as a bone Some people have cited ignition or coil or pickup stuff, but all that (including CDI) seems to have everything to do with spark, so if there is a spark ..... Also i just checked the fuel filter, although dirty i can blow it out, i even hooked the fuel line directly to the carb and tried to crank (big no no) no fuel went in the carb and from excessive cranking the battery is now dead AGAIN! Ok im ready to solve this anyone want to hit me with some serious ideas, FYI:: about the storm it was like d cat said, a typical windstorm no more no less, more rain flooding then anything else, the media hyped it waaaay out of proportion (then again thats all they do anyway) www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8itXyREUuU

:2cents: You installed a "carb kit"..Pull the bowl, hook up the fuel line and turn on fuel, does fuel run out with the float down?Does it shut off when up?Id guess its a float level adjustment....
