Engine needs a rebuild. Oil in gas, gas in gear box. How much does something like this cost? And how long does it take?

That is... a whole lotta money to rebuild a PX. Those engines aren't rocket science. That's all I'm going to say. Matt

Let’s say I get it back, I’d still owe some for the work he put into it already. But I get it back and it would sit in my garage and eventually get fixed in a year. This way, and I know it’s expensive, I get it in a month. I support a local business.

I love supporting local business as well, however you're being taken though (at least IMHO), and that's not right. The parts for a PX rebuild aren't appreciably expensive unless you have cracked cases, and are readily available as well. I had a local shop here rebuild mine back in the day (2012) when I wanted to keep it stock, and that ended up costing about $500 bucks. Matt

Yeah. I might get it back and do it myself. Now that it’s been diagnosed.

Or at least shop around and keep this guy honest, as I totally get not wanting to do the work yourself. You're around Austin, right? Give AF1 a call and see what they say.

Matt I think that price is a worst case, have to crack the case, replace the piston, number. It’s a worst case estimate. But he does replace everything. Dunno. I can call F1. But even if they came in a little lower the trouble of getting it down there would suck. But I’m no dope. I’m seeing whet gets done for his rebuild. I don’t take this guy as a someone who charges too much, I see him as a specialist that a lot of people go to. Dunno, we’ll see what happens.

Not yet. Funny thing is that when you run out they make more. 👀 kinda like Doritos. 😄 But that reminds me that I should ride over there and check it out.
