Honda Giorno / AF 24 - First scoot

Paint all dried up. Looks ok for a spray can paint.

Now, I need yout help. When I opened the cooling shroud I found some kind of a foam between the bottom and the middle sections. What was the purpose of that foam?

The bad part is that the foam was all shredded, should I replace it with somethin else or I can assemble the shroud without foam?

Back on this subject.

I wasn't able to find the desired carburetor on racing-planet.de (Looking for the Dellorto PHGB 19BS), they said that it will be back in stock but I'm waiting for more than a month so I started searching locally, used.

I found this Dellorto but I'm not sure what mode it is. It is about 35 euro, I'm wondering if it's worth it or I should get a new one.

What do you guys say?

I can't figure what model it is, it's a PHGB 19mm carb but I don't know if it's a AS/BS/CS/DS. Even tho' I don't know what these letters mean but I could find for specs online.

Today was a full day. My welding machine got toasted, went to the warranty, waiting for their answer regarding the fault.

Then went to the post office to pick up the China made triple tree. Nice quality but the shipping wrecked it. It took some serious hits and it is dented. Filed a claim to Aliexpress, waiting to see the result.

Got home and started to gather some parts I have to put up a roller. Here is the current state of it.

Next to do:

- throw the centerstand and build a kickstand from scratch.

- make some spacers to center the front wheel for my disc brake conversion

- find a way to machine the rear wheel to the specs of the standard wheel. The transmission shaft hole is 5mm longer than the standard wheel and it's offcentered.

Pretty neat to see that shroud taken apart. It is very similar to the SYM dd50 shroud.

If it was me, i would replace the foam because without the foam, most of the air from the cooling fan might bypass through the large openings on the primary shroud and not pass accross the bores cooling fins. I feel that the foam will provide resistance, thus making the air pass across bore over to the other side.

Hey! To be honest I want to replace it with a new one but I cannot find one. The Honda ones are discontinued so it seems the SYM / Kymco ones. At least where i live.

Hello guys, sorry for off topic, anyone who knows where i can buy the whole set of cover for this giorno? i have same kind, AF24. Pls help as i cant see any available cover/fairings for this scooty in the net. Thanks in advance.
