I found the rings for the triport! The triport is not a tadia brand cylinder but I put the triport rings in a tadia cellophane for safe keeping. I must have overlooked them a dozen times, I am terrible about keeping stuff together. I am working on other motor setups ATM, but I really should throw this one together now that I have the rings. I'm as bad. I was messing around with some old carbs I had laying around a couple of months ago. Just to rule out a running issue I was having. When I fitted the carb I kept getting a lean condition and took me a while to realise I had a 16mm carb slide in a 17mm carb. must have been having a senior moment when I packed them away.

Over the last couple of days I completed the final assembly of this motor. It is almost ready to be installed in a scooter. I am going to put this motor in the red Kymco Super Fever ZX that I got from pinkscoot a few years ago. This scoot has never been on the road since I got it, maybe by this weekend that will change.

I dug the red Kymco ZX out from the corner of the warehouse today. For reasons I forgot it is really taken apart more than I remember, pretty much stripped from the floorboard back LoL! I started looking for and pulling the parts I need to put it back together from all over the shop. This may take a little longer than I anticipated.

Earlier, I tried to kick start it before I left the shop and it would not start. I sorta felt like it was not getting spark but I did not have time to check. I never had this scoot running since I owned it so I thought it may be an electrical problem or even the random CDI I used. I just realized I forgot to turn the key on while trying to kick it. LoL

I've never done that. But have forgotten to turn the fuel tap on before a few times. When I used to ride with a group of guys years ago. It was considered funny to switch the run switch to off when you were paying for fuel. Then sit back and laugh at how long it took you to figure it out.

It started up pretty easy once I turned the key on. Did a few tuning runs and decided I really needed a temp gauge which led to me figuring out how to replace the non replaceable battery in a Trail Tech temp gauge. After all that I installed the gauge, gave it a quick wash and did a few more tuning runs. It pulls pretty good so far but there is plenty of tuning to be done.

More tuning today. Back to a 100MJ and a 35PJ. I also found a stock Kymco fixed variator half to replace the aluminum aftermarket one I had on there. I was never able to get the aftermarket fixed halves to work as well as the stock Kymco ones. I installed lighter weights by a couple grams but I need to install a RPM meter to see where I am at. I also need to fix the stock speedo that does not work or install something that does.

I fixed the stock speedo today, so far it goes about 42MPH on the top end and pulls pretty good down low. At 81cc and its an aluminum kit I feel like it should have quite a bit more. I think the V8 pipe is holding it back a bit. I think durations were a bit on the mild side but it should do more than 42. The CVT nor carb tune is not 100% either.

Spent the better part of the day getting the carb and CVT tuned. It's pretty good now, top speed is around 48 mph. I think the V8 pipe is definitely the limiting factor now. I may look into one of the cheaper chamber pipes for it at some point.
I was going to put the rest of the panels on it but the tabs on them are a mess or missing. I may resort to tie wraps for this one.
I dont know what I will be doing with this scoot. The blue Kymco is faster than this one and therefore more fun to ride. I may find a chamber pipe for the blue Kymco and turn it into a ripper since it has the ultimate Polini Corsa cylinder that should be easily good for 125 mph, then I could move the TK pipe that is on it to the red Kymco

That would top the speed list if you did. 😉
