Doesnt stretch much, but compresses nicely..Its a cloth/silicone tube with spiral wire in it to keep its shape and can bend sharp angles without collapsing.. ryan-ott had a neat setup also, maybe he can chime in..

I ordered a couple feet of it. I’m sure I’ll be able to make it work.

I stick an old torque driver cover in the airbox outlet. Then a coupler on that. Reinforced hose. Clamp to carb or use another coupler if necessary. Oddly enough, I'm doing one for my scoot right now and filming. Pictorial here though : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1346/modifying-stock-airbox-larger-relocationDoesn't have to be a TD cover. Could be PVC, tubing, whatever works. You can look up actual measurements of PVC and most supplies to piece something together. My exact stuff won't work for you, 'cause my carb's mouth is smaller. I've used plastic welder (chemical) and JB ClearWeld to join adapters to the airbox. Both worked fine.

I’ve fabbed the OEM stock box to 28mm PWK carbs with no issues. Use the scat material or a close radius silicone 90 that fits the carb mouth then find some pvc plumbing fittings to mount to the air box. Dremel out the hole and jb or epoxy the plumbing adapter in place to the air box. Cheap, simple solution and can be angled to fit in tight areas. Check Brent’s link for additional pictures of what I’ve used.

Thanks for all the input guys. I picked up a couple things from the hardware store today, ordered some of that airplane duct tubing, and was already eyeballing some of that silicone tubing you’ve been using ryanott . I’ve been looking at it on Aliexpress and Amazon. Where’d you get it from?
I’ll let you guys know what I come up with. Good to have options.

Anyone ever use one of these 360 intakes? You use a gasket with it?

One other thing I will be doing (or attempting) is to utilize my oil tank as a reserve fuel tank. I was just going to run some Tygon to a Y joint with a on/off petcock before it and use that a reserve tank. Has anyone done this before? Yeah I've done that on 2 scooters so far, having an extra 750mm-1L of gas can be a real life saver! The cap on the oil tank can be a real pain though, at least on Suzuki's with their loose fitting push in caps, they love to splash fuel about under the seat lol Have used the Piaggio version of that intake, the rubber elbow acts as the gasket.

Awesome thank you. I'll have to vent the new gas cap somehow and maybe I'll add a screen or something to it to try and mitigate any splashing. That's what I was guessing with the intake. I used a gasket previously and had tons of leaks with one sealant, then switched sealants and it sealed, but thought I should just be able to get ride of the gasket/sealant altogether since its nice and chunky rubber.

Been making pretty good progress lately and am finally beginning final assembly for the most part. I ran into a problem getting the rear pulley for the Polini (Polini factory shut down) over range kit that I had, so Scooter Tuning exchanged it and I went with the Malossi La Furia Rossa.
I swear I have the worst luck in the world when it comes to over ranges. First I spent about 3 hours sanding down the Polini kit to make it fit, then the pulley was a no-go, so I exchanged it and counted my time a loss, now this....

Wait a sec. is that a 16mm crank? That would explain why things weren't fitting as they should. Normal size is 13mm. Polini made two versions of the Evo overrange variator, for 13mm and 16mm cranks. I have never seen a 16mm crank before.

I’m 99% sure it’s a 13mm, but I can check in a few. Everything else fits and slides on as it should, just not that drive boss.
