Electrical gremlins are still plaguing me. Anytime I sit or put weight on the frame it dies. Messing with any of the wiring doesn't effect running. Just when the engine moves on the frame.
Any thoughts???
Do I need a new donor per lol?

So I took the alternator apart to more closely examine the wiring and recheck everything.
All looked good so I taped it all up and put it back together.
Now it sounds better, runs better, and for and reason works again.
I'm not sure what I did, but I think I had the pulse generator installed backwards. That's my only theory... but in mystified.
Now I am finally going to do the final tune.

Well I thought I had the electrical problem dealt with - but I was wrong. I did get the carb dialed in (on the stand) but the electrical issue manifested once I installed the seat and was ready to street test. I am now thinking about what to do next. 1. Install a new or new/used alternator/stator with wiring and hope that was the issue. 1b. Replace entire wiring harness if alternator swap fails. 2.  ? |

After research and symptom checking I think that I need a stator or spark plug wire/ignititor setup.
My plug wire has come apart a few times (but the wire and insulation is not cracked). I have a new setup coming soon.
Also, my stator had a few knicks in the coils. No broken wires but possibly enough to matter... also symptoms of a dying stator line up with the symptoms my GET is presenting. I have a used OEM stator coming in. Photos looked excellent... much cheaper than new OEM $$$...

It runs pretty good. I need to find tune the jets. The jet kit I have didn't have very small increments. I'm running 38/85. No speedo now so I'm not sure how fast I'm running yet. Any speedo or top speed apps you recommend? Starts a bit cold and needs to warm up but never fails to fire. |

Hey, could you give a little better breakdown on how whole handlebar setup works? I'd like to do something a little different than the stock setup but I can't find info on like how everything actually fits together.
