I came across a Barn Find 2 years ago A retired couple bought these 2 Vinos brand new in 2004 rode them over the summer for years . Put just over 2000 miles on them. They were meticoulusly maintained I bought both for my wife and I for us to take some nightly cruises with. My Zuma was just to big for her . They were fully restricted in the pipe and variator wedding band did 28-30 mph . Took the wedding band out so the variator could fully close top speed went to low 30's Took the restriction out of the stock exhaust so the engine could breathe 38 mph . So 8-10 mph with a little dremmel work on the exhaust restriction and opening up the cvt

So I Both Vino's sounded zingy after swapping in new plugs I was a little lean on wide open. Ordered Jets that would fit the stock carb Mikuni style from 67,70,72,75,77 From these guys www.jetsrus.com/a_jet_kit_scooter/yamaha_50_vino.htmYamaha has a Mikuni style carb called a Teikie and different size jets for tuning are hard to come by . So I ordered a range that should get me close . In the past Mikuni #'s for my Zuma had to be 5-10% higher than the stock main Teikei Jets to give similar results ...

My Wife wanted a litte extra Like My zuma . So I ordered on my Quarterly Scooter Parts Order. A Malossi Sport Bbk and a Malossi Wild Lion Pipe Malossi Multivar . Some Michelin S1 Tires . Went up a size in the back to 90/90/10 . Polished and raised by 1 mm Exhaust Port ,Chamfered all the ports . Telling my wife to Break in a Kit Slow and Easy doesnt work ,She lets it warm up and then she rides it hard . My wife only knows one Throttle position W.F.O. It caught her off guard because the front tire now gets light on take off. The Kit and pipe are a good match 9100 Rpms is where she peaks out .
Set the Variator with 6.5 gram sliders and she pops to 8000 rpms . 6 gram sliders also worked I put those on the other Vino The clutch springs I went up one tension but I could have got away with stock. 48-50 mph Gps is where she runs now .
I raced a 150 Vespa I beat him off the line he caught even with me at about 1/2 a block. We chatted at the next light .He was impressed by the 2 Stroke Smoke power and How I jumped off the line . We raced again I got him again then I road home Pondering Up Gears so I could catch him up top.

The Malossi Wild Lion is a very stealthy upgrade with next to no cvt tuning needed

Did you notice a difference in the ride with the Michelins? I have a set for the Kymco I haven’t installed yet. They seem like they make a good bike tire.

It is amazing, the performance difference the factory trenching and angled intake make when you get rid of the restrictions. Then bolt on a 70cc kit and pipe, your at 50. Plenty fast enough for 10" wheels!
