I still have the old belt, I’ll compare The stock variator can close until it runs off the ramp tabs. The rollers have marks in the steel plate where they ride all the way at the edge. The belt wedges down into the bottom edge of the driven pulley near the bottom. I took pictures of how far down it can go back about a page in here.

I installed a straight groove torque driver on my zuma & it got rid of the mid range bog. It was less than $40 was definitely worth it.

Ok, I managed to put in the one rear pulley. It has multiple grooves and has been well loved . I moved the pins to a slot that looked unused since two appeared to be grooved from prior use. The black spring was installed, it’s twice as long decompressed compared to the stock Keeway. I did clean the old grease out and install new grease. Reinstalled everything else as it was prior.
One lap around the block, bazinga! No more bog down when the shift comes because it never comes. Just linear acceleration from stop to 50mph. At launch rpms come up to 9-10 and quickly settle to 9k and stay there until? I only rode a 1/2mile lap and now it’s shower time.
This weekend is booked. I have to layout and line 7 soccer fields for our league. I’ll report more when I can.

Great news. It can really make a difference when you change the angle.

Took a longer lap last night and this morning. Bike is no longer aggravating from 30-40. Acceleration is silky smooth from 0-55. I’m so accustomed to the two step acceleration that this will take some getting used to. Bike pulls steady. Launch is 9500 (guessing based on a bar graph tach) settles in to 9+ and stays there. When throttle is relaxed to cruise at 35mph it’ll drop to 7k. As soon as throttle is applied rpms jump to the 9k and away we go. Power feels good, engine and pipe seem ok with rpms. Now I just want to go ride.

Sounds like it's pretty dialled in now. Onto the next project? 🙊 Next project would be a title for the blue bike I got then get it going. I am less than a year on two wheels so I need more road time.

I made this video just for the audio mostly. My noggin camera appears to have a cracked mount so rather than lose it I just made a hip cel phone video quickly.

New sneakers on the way..... Oh yeah! Is it tire time already? Man, I am dreading having to do that again soon. Soapy water is your friend! Lots of soapy water... and patience. Lol. Really though, it's not that bad. Sense of accomplishment makes it worth it. Everytime you walk past the bike "Those are MY tires." There's also a ziptie method. Never tried it, but worth a watch. youtu.be/CvjEd6zg5Wk

Haha! You're gonna like those, sir. That's what I put on the QJ. They hold the road very well and water is not a problem. 👍

I managed to get two riding mowers running today, now if I can it’s soapy water time.

Nice looking tires. I haven't seen those Kendas before. Nice to see more dual compound stuff suitable for small scoots.
